To be blunt, your conformation bias is showing here.

May speaking on Brexit during this election will be aimed at Brussels just as much as at the home country...

And what politians say they will accept when faced with potracted, potentially "nasty" (to use May's word) and complex negotations such as this, may or may not be what they actually accept in the long run. Even if we could agree what a "bad deal" actually entailed!

On that score Doddle is right, no-one in the government's situation is going to define what qualifies as a "bad deal". For one thing being vague allows deniability after the fact. (More than ever given how momentum builds in the 24/7 news arena politicians have learnt to be unpindownable wherever possible.)

No, the Tories (along with the rest) are saying exactly what you would expect them to say given that they are in the driving seat and they are the ones who called the election. The important thing to imagine is what would be the case if the Tories were in opposition..? Don't you think that they would be attempting to claim the moral high ground and pushing for anything but a bad or no deal for the red, white and blue just as the others are now?

As Dan says, in essence, it's all simply political positioning atm. Very little can actually be determined from any of it because there's so much is still to play for on Brexit.

That's why May attempted to exploit the vacuum and win a landslide by calling the election now. (Though her opportunism was proved even earlier than that when her initial support for Remain was removed like sheep's clothing once the referendum result was known.)

After a poor manifesto launch and TV performance it's no wonder she wants the election to focus on Brexit from here on in.

I'll be voting Labour. But the way I see it, morally, it woud be right to have May and her cohorts attempt to fix their own mess.
Incompetent politicians are the cause of Brexit, and the same incompetent politicians dont have a clue how to fix their mess. Which ever party has to negotiate a deal, the other partys will blame them for negotiating a bad deal. Like school kids in a playground our highly paid politicians.
It's going to be a tough decision

Labour would have to borrow £25 billion plus a year to meet there commitments. And they plan to abolish MI5 & MI6
The Conservatives plan to bring in their dementia tax.
The Liberal's are in denial regarding Brexit. And they want to raise your taxes
UKIP are a party of the past. And they are run by some very dangerous people.
The Green's would probably make us all ride round on bikes.
And the SNP are just focused on getting independance

If only there was a party that I could vote for. Doesn't the Monster Raving Lonny party still exist? Big Grin
Labour are unelectable with Corbyn at the helm. The Tories would be best for Brexit but desperately need reining in on alot of domestic issues.

I might just go SNP and take my chances on Indyref2 at a future date bladewave
Did anyone see Boris on SKY lunchtime news? When asked to clarify about the winter fuel allowance, waffle, blame ladour, waffleHuhHuh Fucking clueless posh buffoonannoyedannoyedannoyed
If there's one good thing about a Tory landslide, it's that Boris is history.
He only got the Foreign job to keep him from plotting behind her back.
CONservatives have stated no change of plan, Mother Theresa will not do a televised debate with other party leaders. Is Mother Theresa frightened they ask about, dementia tax, cold weather allowance, free bus passes, school meals for kids, CONservative protection of House of Commons peado ring, selling off state industry, police numbers cut, etc. Strong and Stable leadership, my arse, the woman is weak and cowardly.
The "Liar Liar" song about her is going to go Top 10 Tongue That's young people getting involved, that is.

Wasn't Corbyn an IRA sympathiser? An anti monachist that wants to dismantle the UK's defence?

But, he's very good at spending money he hasn't got yet.

Seems the right man for the job, even his own party have always thought so.
