A historic meeting has taken place between David Cameron and Alex Salmond today. The agreement has been struck in Edinburgh and a simple Yes/No vote will take place in the Autumn of 2014.

As a true Scotsman I will be voting Yes to Scotland breaking away from English rule for far too long. Calling on all Scotsman on this forum which way will you vote.
Any idea what the current opinion polls suggest in regards to which way the vote is heading?
Be interesting to see how England breaking away from Scotland would pan out, I suppose.
More powers yes, but becoming completely independent, I'm not sure, so no. There's too many what ifs for my liking.
I'll give you an example here on why an Independant Scotland would more than survive.

Back in the summer when Rangers were ejected from the SPL after going into liquidation many people up here doubted whether the league would survive such a fate, many predicted doom and gloom and some even forecast that the SPL would fold by Christmas.

None of which I can see happening, we have adapted and thrived. Just don't mention my team Dundee United Big Laugh

We are going through something of a transitional stage at the moment Wink

The same result here applies for me would be if Scotland went independant. There is absolutely no reason why we can't go it alone.

As a nation we have allways put ourselves down. We are a great Country with many resources, arguably more than England.

Time to start believing. Cameron and Clegg are shitting themselves at the prospect of the break up of the United Kingdom.

We can go it alone, other smaller Countries such as Holland and Belgium have managed so why not us.

Let's also have a look at the contribution we as a nation have achieved.

We invented electricity, the telephone, the television. Not to mention our rich supply of oil and export of Whisky amongst other things and ofcourse Scotchbread Wink

Time to end the English rule and stand up and be a nation again Smile
As an Englishman I would be more than happy to see an Independant Scotland. Good luck to you.

Also think Cambo is secretly loving the idea, 59 less seats that other parties can win against him.
Salmond would have to explain in detail how an Independent Scotland would fund itself before I would vote for Independence. On the Unionist side I hope they will run a positive campaign talking about why the Union is good for Scotland rather than the negative scaremongering campaign about the consequences of Independence which I have seen so often lately.
Wish they'd give us English a vote on throwing Scotland out ;-)
Independence no thank you what is the point of breaking away from the UK we may not be ruled by Westminster where we would have some say but be ruled by Europe where we have no say (that is if they let us in) but as the Nats are desperate for us to stay in Europe that is where the power would be, as a regular viewer to FMQ there are still too many questions that are never answered by Alex Salmond BRITISH AND PROUD!!!!
