Season 7 will see the introduction of two new recurring characters the first will be is an “ambitious, young, anti-vigilante recruit at the SCPD” and the second character will be a “successful tech whiz who is gay, and who harbors a heartbreaking past.”
Stephen Amell also added this statement regarding season 7:

“I think that it's going to be...we can't go bigger than we went last year, so we're going more specific. . . . We are gonna introduce a new storytelling technique that I'm really excited about. All that I can say.”

Ep 23 “Life Sentence” Season 6 Finale

A Ep full of action with Diaz tightening his grip on Star City Oliver has to go to desperate measures to stop him. With help from unexpecting allies and team arrow they all team up to stop Diaz who’s hunger for power puts him out of control. But with everything and with all season finales there’s a massive price to pay. There’s a team with two characters which was great to see them in action.
Funny enough there’s something very familiar with this season finale and season 13 finale of Supernatural and that’s when you do a deal with the devil he come always comes to collect and Oliver pays a really big price.
There’s a possible hint at the season 7 villains and goodbye to character and they won’t be coming back even I shed a tear R.I.P. There’s a cameo from a very familiar face that ties in that and what happens.
As for ending i can say it might seem familiar to some people let’s just say it’s to do with a DC movie that they had a idea for that never came out.

this episode was on skyone yesterday evening and thought it was an excellent very emotional season finale with plenty of action & emotion to round off what has been a very good season of arrow. nice to see a certain character come back for a cameo & wonder if they will be a regular next season

don't think that character will be due to being on the other spinoff show.

felt like this season should have been season 5 and season 5 be season 6
