Crackdown 3 (XOne);
I loved the first Crackdown on the Xbox360 when it was released back in 2007 getting the chance to play a character with upgradeable superhuman abilities taking on a crime-ridden city was a fun concept.The great game it was my favourite part in the game was scaling & leaping over the tall buildings & landscapes searching for the hidden orbs that are used to upgrade your abilities to enhance your powers further. Crackdown 2 (X360) was a disappointing sequal that was merely an expansion on the first game & just didn't use the first game as the foundation to expand & improve on the game.I did have high hopes when Crackdown 3 (Xone) was announced particularly as rumours circulated that the game has been 6 years in development but when the review embargo was lifted prior to the games release a week ago to very lukewarm & poor reviews filled me with disappointment (& many others gauging by forums & reviews).A good friend of mine works for CEX & lent me a copy for a few days so I've had a good 4-5 hours play on the game & I have to say I found the game hugely underwhelming to be blunt it's piss-poor.The best part about the game is that they used actor & former NFL player Terry Crews to play as your main character but everything else about the game just feels undercooked.The first Crackdown boasted over a 100 song soundtrack which isn't the case this time but this just doesn't feel like a game that took 6 years to make & graphics wise it looks more like an X360 than a current generation game,there are far better games of of it's type than this.I feel this lucklustre effort may have just killed off the Crackdown franchise which is a shame.Overall 5/10.
