Microsoft ain't innocent either they could made the Xbox One as powerful as the PS4 or more so but they fucked around with DDRM and the other chipsets, they wanted the console to always be online and that you could only play your copy of the game on your machine they only back tracked because there was so a public out cry for what they wanted to do. Technical its still there they did was sent a patch sort that problem out then there's the kinetic which people didn't want and it drove up the price of machine allowing the PS4 to be the better offer side from being more powerful its only now that Microsoft is playing catch up with Sony.
What i would have done is cut out the DDRM shit from the start, make to models of the Xbox One, a budget one without the kinetic keeping at the same price as the PS4 and then a premium one with the Kinetic at higher price and you can buy the kinetic separately if you wish, if Microsoft had done this they would have been neck and neck with Sony and probably over taken them.
Even i have to admit Microsoft have always been better at running there online business, Xbox live is way better then PSN and am PSN+ sub the only small thing is you do get free games and discounts every month.
Even the online on Wii U is actually really good and they've been upgrading the software every few months and using that online is great and its free.

Agreed that Microsoft made plenty of mistakes when they launched but my point is they learnt and have tried to rescue the console by improving on those mistakes. Sony however, just don't seem concerned. Their customer service is notoriously bad. Nintendo have always done their own thing and have made good consoles with some great games. Sadly it doesn't appeal to many because its not a shiny, sexy looking console and their games catalogue doesnt attract the mass market.
Thats my point time if any of them in the long term will have learned as to how deal with there consoles my point being is that its about marketing if you disrespect customers then they won't forgive you and games suffer Battlefield 4 had that issue could have been a great game a killed Call of Duty but rushed the game out and suffered for it. My point with Nintendo is you don't have to like them but they know how to market something and don't disrespect customers you only have to look at games like Mario Kart 8 which offered you a free game to download worth over 40 quid along with there being Mario Kart fans who will buy the game and the throw in any choice of free game people will lap it up, they gave you free DLC on top of that you get gonna get extra DLC in up and coming months you gonna snap it up people will buy it or with Bayonetta 2 you get free copy of the first one, the second one gets high marks people will buy its about marketing your product and people will buy it.
I wanted to try out Driveclub before i dropped £40+ and it put me off buying not because of the reviews you can't trust of them but the waythey treated me as customer no one will bother with that game now because of bad marketing which has left bad taste in peoples mouths.
Your right Kalel because the points you've made are the very reasons I haven't bought a new console yet and I'm more than happy to stick with my PS3 until they sort themselves out. They've released these new consoles and there's very little out there to convince me it's worth forking out for? The games need to move forward and actually represent what people are looking for, so far in my mind this hasn't been the case. If I bought a next generation console I would honestly be expecting the earth based on the promotional hype we see around them. I have played on these consoles at my friends houses using them as Guinea pigs so to speak. I haven't yet seen or heard anything that compels me to jump onboard.
Rather anti-climatic if anything because I was hoping to have had a PS4 by now. I just don't see the point as things stand, I know I sound like a tight, miserable bugger but they haven't delivered yet so I'm not buying
usually the new consoles it takes a while for the games to really take shape and take full advantage of the hardware its only now for example that good quality Wii U games are coming out after a year or two it will be the same for the next gen. I only got my PS4 because i was offered a very deal so i took it put it on my credit card and paying it off, with the games am picking and choosing what games i want a lot of them have been second hand, some been in discounts only a couple i have bought day 1 and there loads more i want but with the price of the next gen its lot of money.
I still highly playing my PS3 and have loads of games yet to play in my collection, the same with my Wii U and i even set back up my Wii and i can play my Gamecube hell i even thinking of buying back up a N64 and fixing up my SNES. I still at some point wanna pick up a 360 one day if i find one for that right price.
Its like this if you can afford a next gen console and there's games on it you really want then buy it, but don't be in hurry to buy one if there isn't any that want theres still plenty of life left in the previous gen consoles, but i do agree i hate when game companies take the piss and treat there consumers like shit.
I own both the xbone and the PS4 and really am unbiased in saying this as I want both machines to be fantastic and well supported. I have to say the xbone is currently the better machine for me. A lot has been made of the apparently superior 1080p of the PS4 over the alleged 720p of the xbone, but you know what, the actual difference in graphical quality is negligable. 1080p v720p on a pc would be as you are sat that much closer but even on a 55" tv the graphics between the consoles isn't all that different. Besides the xbone is running at 900p on quite a few games now.
What really matters is the frame rate and both consoles tend to operate at the same level in this regard.
Yes originally the xbone was more expensive but the prices have been reduced to a comparable amount now and you are no longer saddled with an obligatory kinect.
The human can't see beyond anything above 720p so between 720p and 1080p there isn't much difference but some gamers it does play factor. You only have to look at the up roar with Assassins Creed Unity where that was running at one point 1080p and at 60fps now its 900p 30fps and even its a slight drop theres been so much back lash towards Ubisoft for doing so it has been a big deal theres been videos about this all over youtube and its been blowing up all over twitter the latest victim now is The Halo collection where the games are not running at 1080p and people making a fuss about it or games like PES 2015 running at 1080p at the moment on a PS4 and the Xbox One the res will be 720p again people will make a big deal about even if the difference is minor.
Most of the people that do play throughs of videos on youtube have more then one console i.e a PS3 and 360 they would tend to play the games like Call of Duty would tend to play the game on the 360 as the games looked a little better and the online a lot smoother unless they had one of the consoles then they had no choice now most the youtube gamers play on a PS4 simply because its deeded more powerful even if theres nothing in it.
The Xbox One may have better first party but why is the PS4 so far ahead of it, simply reasons why at one point it was cheaper console but the Xbox One is a lot cheaper and two because the PS4 is more powerful and when gamers hear the word more powerful thats where people's mind set will be because they want the most powerful hardware in there hands thats why the PS4 is doing well with hardly any first party games for it. The only time this won't apply is there's a game which you simply can't get on PS4 i.e Halo or Forza or if a game has first exclusive DLC like Call of Duty or Fifa 15 then if you want that those factors will make you wanna get that version of the game or both games like for example Assassins Creed Unity are exactly the same or if you've made the choice to just to settle with one of those consoles.
Whats more worrying is that there supposed to be next gen consoles and most the games can only 30 frames per second and you consoles like Wii U with games like Bayonetta 2 doing 1080p and more importantly doing 60 frames per second. I have a link to another again Dragon Age: inquisition being latest game to get attention for being 1080p on a PS4.
I don't really care about a res of game as long as the game is fun to play and i enjoy them, thats why i still have my Wii, Super Nintendo, NES, PS1 and Gamecube and they don't have HDMI support they scart and there still as funny as they do i first bought them it should be about the games not about the hardware thats what true gaming is really about

The biggest problem with these so called next generation consoles is people's expectations, I mean I was disappointed when I picked up the ps4 controller that I wasn't suddenly strapped into an ironman suit and transported to a holographic gaming world, maybe that'll happen with a ps5, I guess I'll have to wait and see. In the meantime I'll be playing Alien Isolation and hopefully loving it!
PS, I finished Killzone on hard which in the end wasn't that hard and is a suprisingly short game, I wish I'd had a stealth suit all through the game though that would have been more fun! I kinda missed hearing the Helgast shouting "SUFFER!!" too lol
