I agree that Capt Sir Tom has earned this break, I do though acknowledge the 'concerns' expressed by others - they didnt have to attack him in such a vicious way however. I take it on trust that he and his family took steps to gauge the risks in the round, before deciding to go! On a relayed corona matter - interesting to note that the Lancet has declared the Russian Sputnik V vaccine 91.6% effective. I wonder how the western media will deal with this news given the 'scepticism/anti - russian narrative that pervades our news output so often!

I get that Putin isn't a paragon of virtue too often, and his treatment of Navalny is out of order - along with his 'goading' as seen by the latest buzzing of a U.S warship by one of the Russian airforce's planes. Having said all that, facts are facts in the case of the vaccine, and it shows that knee jerk reactions are not always helpful. Unless we no longer accept the status of the likes of the Lancet publication??

Russia isn't always the bad guy ogre as portrayed, and I think that we might be better served in the west accepting that more often, and stop this phoney enemy stance. The USA needs an enemy to justify its status claims - truth is they are just plain paranoid quite often. We - and particularly our media - should not be acting in the same manner!
NO NO NO!! Capt Sir Tom has passed away!!!!!!!!!!

The Russian vaccine was always going to be a success. They had managed to gain access to the Oxford teams computers and data.

The Telegraph - July 17th
New study shows that the Astra Zenica offers protection of 76% up to 12 weeks after a single dose, with further data supporting a 4-12 week dosing interval

Putin didn't create the vaccine personally.

I don't think anyone doubted the calibre of their scientists. They invented Novichok...
