Face masks on public transport is very sensible as a precautionary measure, but why only now, why not a month ago, or at least a week ago when the back to work instruction was given?
As usual, it's the government reacting to things after the event rather than getting ahead of things. Not only is it too little too late, but this new instruction doesn't even come into effect until the week after next. So what happens next week then, is the virus not going to be spread next week because the government has instructed it not to?

As many deaths as the rest of europe combined, this R number still dangerously close to 1, and we are blundering ahead with schools opening, footie starting back up, and everything heading back to normal.
Can't help feeling this may end badly!
I wojuld not be surprised if the easing is short - lived and weare back at square one in August or September
The latest R number update is out

0.7 - 0.9
According to Sky News, we have the second highest infection rate of any major european country, yay UK!
If we get a second wave we could still hit the top spot, another feather in Boris's cap (sorry, I mean Big Dom, the one who is really running the country).

We are second only to Sweden. Remember Sweden? Held up as a shiny example of how it should be done, no lockdown, low deaths, everything tickety-boo. Not looking quite so rosy over there now though, with even the guy behind the strategy this week admitting they may have screwed up.

EDIT : Another 350 deaths today!

EDIT 2 : Job losses is no laughing matter, but just to add a touch of levity before we all stick our heads in our ovens - I see Victoria's Secret has gone into administration in the UK. Their recent figures were pants so trading has been suspendered and there wasn't a thong they could do Smile

OK, I'll get me coat!

The online business is not affected by the administration.

25 stores actually VS have in the U.K. including 2 in Manchester

Not surprised though as vs has been struggling for a long time now as people are moving to brands like SavageXFenty that Rihanna created plus other issues including links between VS & Jeffrey Epstein and a lack of diversity amongst the models VS uses

No it won’t. Victoria’s Secret is still trading online plus there’s the likes of Ann Summers, Honey Birdette plus the likes of M&S, Primark & Debenhams that sell lingerie.
