Pang Junxu lost. Matthew Selt won a close deciding frame against Mark Selby. He can really make his bid to play in the Players Championship now!

Kyren Wilson, World no.9 in the official (2 year) world rankings, only no.42 in the 1 year ranking list for this season. He needs to make the final again to get into the 16 on the 1 year list
Jimmy White made the last 32 before falling to Dominic Dale, of all people. Quite a few quirky names having a good week.
Mixed fortunes for the home Scottish contingent today.

Anthony McGill lost 4-1 to Sanderson Lam.

But John Higgins battled his way to a 4-2 victory over Lyu Haotian.
Higgins and Bingham seem the biggest names left, so there's scope for maybe Ford or Wakelin to seize the day (assuming they've not already been KO'd).
Quarter finals day.

Zhou Yuelong prevailed in a close finish against Stuart Bingham 5-4.

Meanwhile defending champion Gary Wilson steamrolled Chris Wakelin 5-0.

Still to come:

Sanderson Lam v Noppon Saengkham

and

John Higgins v Tom Ford
No Bingham! Hurrah!

Could Wilson defend the title on Sunday?
Semi finals:

Gary Wilson v Zhou Yuelong

John Higgins v Noppon Saengkham

Once again the Scottish Open providing a fascinating spectacle.
Two very interesting semi finals.
Set up for a great finish to the year on the World Snooker Tour.
The makeup of the top 16 for the 1 year ranking list will probably be shaken up a few times before the Players Championship in mid-February next year.

Higgins and Yuelong were already in the 16 before the Scottish Open. Noppon Saengkham has done enough by reaching the semi final to take the 16th position at the expense of Stephen Maguire. He could still be knocked off that position if he doesn't progress further and Gary Wilson wins the final.

Gary Wilson, no.20 in the official world rankings, was only no.61 on the one year list before the Scottish Open. He will enter the top 16 on the 1 year list if he wins the title again this year.
Nice to see Noppon make the semis, as indeed it was with Lam in the quarters. The HN often seem to spring up chances for these lesser guys.
Gary Wilson is through to the final after a sensational semi final win over in form Zhou Yuelong.

It went down to a final frame respotted black which the defending champion duly potted to give himself a shot at defending his title in the showpiece final on Sunday.
