Many shocks at the NI Open, as Mark Allen, Barry Hawkins and John Higgins all bit the dust (the latter at the hands of Rory McLeod, who wasn't too patronised in his interview afterwards much).
Ronnie obviously felt there wasn't enough hype for this so he had a pop at Bazza Hearn instead.
Somewhat surprising q-final line-up:

Eden Sharav v Peter Ebdon
Judd Trump v Ryan Day
Ronnie O'Sullivan v David Gilbert
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh v Mark Selby
Ronnie meets Selby, whilst Trump meets Sharav (who rallied from the brink).
Trump won a high quality final against O'Sullivan 9-7.
Hawkins and Maguire among the Day 1 casualties at the Scawtish Open.
Having suggested on Monday that retirement looks preferable, John Higgins today tapped in a 147 in the 3rd frame of his whitewash of Gerard Greene.

This contrasted with Ross Muir knocking out defending champ Neil Robertson. The Whingeing Aussie complained afterwards that Muir was too slow. Muir said he was suffering badly with migraines, and Robbo apologised.
Watched the Robertson/Muir match and it was truly dreadful, robertson played badly but muir looked no better than your average club player and he was slow.
Tomorrow's semi-finals see Tubs Murphy vs Judd Trump, and Mark Allen vs long-shot Daniel Wells. Seems odd how nearly each Home Nations effort has usually got at least one really-lower-ranked played getting this far.
Daniel Wells has benefited from Ronnie O'Sullivan pulling out. He was due to face the Rocket in round one.
