Joe O'Connor continued his run of giant-killing by adding John Higgins to his earlier wins over Kyren Wilson and Ding Junhui. He closed out the match with a season/career best break, a 131 clearance. However he's got Stuart Bingham tomorrow and he's no fun at all, so expect Grease Face to get through.

Neil Robertson was always under the cosh against Kurt Maflin, but I see he's scraped through in a decider, and meets little-fancied Iranian Hossein Vafaei tomorrow for the chance to meet Bingham on Sunday (probably).
Bingham did indeed do his Killjoy act and won 6-2. Whilst Robertson whitewashed Vafaei this evening.
Killjoy or not but four centuries in the six frames he won is no mean feat, i expect a good final tomorrow.
To give Bingham some due, whilst the HN are often the source of surprise results for lower-ranked players, it's usually the better ones who make it to the final.

Robertson led 7-3 and Bingham scraped it back to 7-7. But Robertson still closed it out for the win Smile
English Open starts 14th October in Crawley.
Barry Pinches was unlucky to be drawn against Mark Selby, and lost 4-2.

Ronnie won a final frame decider and resumed his slagging off of Crawley.
I hope they chuck him out the big headed Bastard
Maguire and Carter also lost in the 1st round though Big Grin
