The competiton proper starts on Monday. Qualifiers start from tomorrow at Brentwood, from 9am, with the all female tie between Mink Nutcharut and Reanne Evans, which will be shown live on Discovery Plus. One woman is guaranteed to win ranking points.
This year there is a change in the rules. The top 32 don't have qualify and can start on Monday in the last 64.
The winner of the English Open will receive £100,000.
Mink Nutcharut beat Reanne Evans 4-2 to win her first match in successive tournaments for the first time.
Wins also for Artemijs Zizins and Bulcsu Revesz but they all have one more qualifying round to negotiate to get through to the last 64 on Monday.
Although Bai Yulu lost to Dean Young, it was great to see the beautiful Desislava Bozhilova referee for the first time this season.

John Higgins has tonight become only the second player in history to reach 1000 career century breaks made in his match against Mark Allen.
Allen had the last laugh though as he won 4-3.
Judd Trump is next in line to achieve the same century break goal being two short of 1000.
