A massive improvement over the pilot in fact if they had started with this storyline it would been much better.

I concur. They could have made this episode 1 and had first two episodes as flashbacks to understand why she mutineered.
4th ep was a good one we find out what that creature is and amazing what it can do
Episode 5 - is that the first time anyone's said fuck on star trek?
^^^ Yip prior to that Data said shit in Star Trek Generations lol.
Ep 5 “Choose Your Pain”

Really enjoyed this Ep all I can say is the Captain gets captured, I loved the tie in to the previous star fleet captains from different previous Star Trek shows in the timeline and up and coming ones, again all I can say is NX.
The wtf ending I didn’t see coming all I have a theory as to what it’s sitting up later in the series.
I forgot to mention in Ep 3 you see some star fleet officers with black badges am wondering if this is a hint at section 31 who first appeared in latter seasons of Deep Space Nine.
Ep 6 “Lethe” Season 1

Another great Ep I like that were getting more back story on Michael Burnham and her history on Vulcan the rest I can’t spoil it’s better to see the story on unfold for yourself.
There a few name drops from the Star Trek universe and you see a darker side to Captain Lorca the question is what is his end and how far will go to get it after seeing what he did this Ep wtf.
Finally got round to catching up with 4,5 and 6. As Tilly would say - this is so fucking cool. It certainly looks like "anyone can die" on this programme. I was a bit sad to see Landry leave in a box. Definitely a "what the hell" moment at the end of Ep 5; looking forward to finding out more.

While that "robot" on the Shenzhou turned out to be someone wearing a tactical helmet, surely that really is a robot on the Discovery - Airiam.

Oh, what about that pack of lies Tyler told Lorca when they were prisoners? About how he had been captured at the Battle of the Binary Stars seven months ago, and had been on this prison vessel since then being abused by L'Rell? But L'Rell had been stuck in a derelict ship for six months with Voq after that battle, without much food. Klingons certainly don't have a problem with eating long pig (they made comments about eating Captain Georgiou), so I can't see them keeping and feeding human prisoners when they could chow down on them instead. L'Rell might have been appointed to the prison vessel after fleeing with Voq, but I'm pretty sure I smell a rat.
Ep 7 “Magic To Make The Sanest Man Go Mad”

Really enjoyed this Ep reminded me of the Star Trek The Next Generation Ep titled “Cause and Effect” in Discovery the time loop is being done on purpose. There is a little Next Gen nod if people spot it.
