Tilly was the grounded character. The mainstream audience's embodiment and their 'in' into the show (especially in its early days as you guys have said). She's been sorely missed this season; so her return will be most welcome.

A lot of shows seem to have struggled for budget this season ('oh look the alien has made an exact replica of our main set' is such a hackneyed cost saving device). I wonder if the serial season and other failings this year are in part down to covid delays and lack of reinvestable funding from the shutdown period?
I don't think I've ever had to force myself to finish through a Star Trek season more than this one (although last season and Picard season one were a slog too). Desperately need a new set of writers

Agree, Tilly's return will be most welcome indeed. Mary Wiseman who plays her is one of the best people I've met from Star Trek. As I've said she's really lovely and last November she made the effort to thank me after I overcame my nerves to ask her a question at the Discovery panel at Destination Star Trek

Ep 12 “Species Ten-C” Season 4.

Better then last weeks Ep, what I did about this Ep is that for once they didn’t go down the cheap route and make the species humanoid and all sci fi shows and movies borrow from each other or the fact they couldn’t use the universal translator to understand they had to work for it for a change.
Seeing them have to work out how to communicate was very rewarding. Jett Reno was the stand out character for me I really wish we saw a lot more of her.
Now the problems how many times must Book be shocked and amazed that Tarka keeps lying and with holding things from and his done this so many times that it’s become tedious. General Ndoye been acting dodgy the whole time and walks out for a while from meeting in cargo bay and no questioned it or that she suddenly came back, then Reno being missing for hours no one noticed. I do think at times it issues with pacing and character and plot development. But other then that annoying things I enjoyed I guess with me it’s because of my science background.
I do Star Trek needs go back single format Eps something that the Strange New Worlds series is going to be doing.
In the end, a satisfactory ending to a season that drove itself round the block too often to reach it. As usual the emotion was a bit too much in your face in places but it effectively wrapped up another take of the classic old science fiction BDO and it's creators theme tidily. As well as a good old climate change message thrown in for good measure.
Three Easter Eggs two ships named after two Star Trek actors that have passed the USS Nog, the character from DS9 played the late Aron Eisenberg, the USS Yelchin played by Anton Yelchin in Star Trek Kelvin Movies and USS Mitchell in honour of Star Trek Actor Kenneth Mitchell how sadly has ALS, really nice touch of naming a ship after him.

Watched tonight on Pluto tv and pretty much agree, A satisfying end to what for me has been the worst season of Disco. Saying that, it was great to see my fav character Tilly back and did like that it looked like Tilly & Book were going to be killed off, but a way was found to keep them alive. Loved the nods to Anton Yelchin, Aaron Eisenberg as well as Kenneth Mitchell who has played multiple roles in previous seasons of Disco.

Needs to be much better in season 5
