Emotional Captain.
Emotional Crew.
Now we've got an emotional ship's computer FFS.

I expected better when I saw Jonathan Frakes' name on the credits. Meh.
See it on Pluto TV tonight & it was a decent episode with David Ajala outstanding as he continues to deal with his grief
“Ep 6 “Stormy Weather” Season 4”

The references to Star Trek Next Gen, Deep Space Nine and the movie Star Trek Insurrection.
Season 4 is going on a mid season break and returning in February 2022.
Ep 7 was annoying especially the Book character who for me keeps flip flopping every Ep and become annoying and inconsistent not the fault of the actor but the writing, the second story arc regarding the Discovery AI was my fav and most interesting part of the Ep.
The show is on break till the 10th February 2022.
Another decent episode including a Star Trek: Insurrection Easter Egg
A sickeningly sugary discussion over a computer that's showing signs of becoming the next HAL9000 mixed with a good dollop of the script from "The Measure of a Man" (TNG) and hey presto it's another episode of Discovery.

I really hope Strange New Worlds is better than this.
^^^ I would suggest not watching it then lol

I actually wasn't surprised by Book, I somehow wasn't buying his supposed resolution to his grief. And ever since that Tarka guy came aboard he saw through it as well.

The Zora storyline is one of things they've done well, it started subtly last season. And thankfully hasn't descended into the tired old mad computer cliche.

Discovery still overdoes the emo but this season finally starting to look like it's going somwhere for the second half of the seaon. Hopefully the mystery isn't an anticlimax.

Ah that old chestnut. If I follow your logic I would have given up after the first year of almost every Trek Series I've watched. Fortunately most of them improved quite dramatically and even Enterprise was getting good when they canned it.

The difference with Discovery is that I thought the first season or 2 were ok but it's gone down the pan since then. I've watched every Trek series so far, several times in some cases and will continue to watch this in the hope a miracle happens.

I'll also continue to criticise it if it doesn't improve. If that upsets anyone then that's their problem.
