OK, i've read and digested a lot information concerning Ofcom and there blatant disregard of the censorship laws, which we all can agree on. However i'm trying to summarise in my own mind where this leaves us all.
Will we have babe channels by the end of this yr? In my opinion yes however i think certain channels are still playing it a little to safe, under the current restrictions Namely Redlight, xxxpanded tv and after the disastrous show concerning Lucy Summers the other night they can"t ill afford to do that again, i stress i'm not blaming Lucy at all.
I was reading in one of the earlier posts, that the babe channels are shit scared of Ofcom, and i agree. You often here the saying " If you want something bad enough By hook or by crook you won't stop until you get it"
Well i tend to feel the babe channels are guilty of this. Instead of them confronting Ofcom and coming together as a united front, there're happy to bury there heads in the sand and hope this all goes away, and thats a very foolish way of thinking.
Another question still remains, why is it that Babestation is the only one with a foreign licence? Why haven't the other channels followed suit? I think the way its going Babestation will be the only babe channel left, because it seems ofcom don't want the hassle with all the legal wranglings.
The way Ofcom are acting at this moment in time are like big bullies in the playground knowing full well, that it appears no one can touch them, however i do feel eventually when the babe channels start dying out, i hope the rest of the channels will man up grow a set of balls and take matters into there own hands. "better late than never springs to mind"
At the end of the day the situation that the babe channels are in are against a rock and a hard place, and i wouldn't envy there position for one moment, but the question still remains, how badly do the channels want change? If they are happy with the status quo, then they should get there P45s ready. If they want change bad enough they should get of there arses and do something about it. Simples!!
Ofcom seem to be holding all the cards, it's up to the channels to call there bluff and if we can help them anyway in this matter we will do. There's no easy solution to this, we all no it, but i do feel there is a solution to all of this, what? i'm not so sure, but i feel the babe channels need to make the first move.
Firstly the reason Babestation has a foreign licence is because Cellcast is based in Holland, now that doesn't mean they are immune to Ofcom, it just means like you said it's one big fucking big hassle and also Cellcast are not the kind of organisation who get pissed on too easily so yes Ofcom are Bullie's and they'll only pick on the easy targets such as the UK Based shows as the legal wrangling side of things doesn't come into play. I urge all the channels to consider getting a foreign licence as it's evident if they all had this in place the same way that cellcast does it would probably render ofcom powerless. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/13222
It seems like Ofcom can't be touched Sad

Maybe not at the moment but their day will come if the channels got the European Court Of Human Rights involved in this, one day Ofcom will be thrown out on their arse, personally I think they are on borrowed time bladewave http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/13222
I thought that a lot more people would have signed the petition, if any over group were breaking the rules from what i've been reading about ofcom then they would have been banged to rights, but it seems like they can get away with it and i bet they probably know this too Sad.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day about possibly using the European Courts on Ofcom thats if the channels would join together to do this if this is possibly.

I would have thought that too, out of the 153,000 plus members only 195 have signed the petition. Now I certainly wasn't expecting a massive influx of signatures but to summarize up this forum. Out of all the members the majority of them only browse and contribute nothing, we have the occasional poster and we have the regular, established posters too but it would appear that the fanboys are in the majority with the Anti Ofcom posters such as ourselves being in the minority. This is the stark truth of the matter, now don't get me wrong I'm still a bit of a fanboy as I watch them every night and have on occasion called the models but I still hunger for change as the true potential of the shows has yet to be reached under the current restrictions. If you haven't already voted then please do so even if you are currently satisfied with the shows as remember Ofcom want to close them all down so it's vital we get as many signatures as possible to safeguard the future long term prospects of the show and more importantly to keep them all on air, you need only look at Bangbabes to see who quickly they can vanish overnight. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/13222

Sounds like a good idea to me, maybe the other channels should consider doing this. I guess my question to you is? is it an easy thing to do? and does it cost a lot of money for the channels to get a dutch licence?Smile
I voted a few weeks ago had to be done, if ofcom carry on with the way they are we won't have any of channels left any more.

I still think many of us are missing the point. I don't believe the channels' continued existence is in any jeopardy. Quite the reverse. The channels are making sure they give Ofcom no cause for concern. This keeps Ofcom happy, and in turn - the key to all this - is that those of us who are disgruntled with the current output are outnumbered many times over by those who are perfectly happy with it and will continue to keep them ticking over very nicely.
