sky already provide instructions on how to pin protect, its in the manual you get when you get your box off them. the instructions are very simple to follow in a step1-2-3 fashion, so an adult claiming they don't know how is basically a lazy adult that didn't read the instructions and therefor forfeits the right to complain because he or she was to damn lazy to protect there own children.
they also have channels dedicated to how to use your sky also which appear as the first thing you see when you first switch your sky box on...

Here's an interesting one Eurotic Tv was recently removed from Sky Italy and the way it works is that you have to manually rescan the box and add it accordingly and better than what the UK Sky version has on the box it automatically assigns the channel a number so that you don't have to have it stored on the other channels menu. Could this method work here so that we could also pick up this channel and others of a similar nature. Yes i know Sky does this and my freeview appliances also have instructions bucklets telling you how to use child lock/pin protection , but ofcom keep stating that some parents still don't know how to use pin locks or remove adult channels and use this as one of the reasons why they deem that the adult channels must be tame so to speak , so what i am saying is if instructions were given out in some way or another on normal non adult sections or specialist sections on Sky and Freeview were parents could quite clearly see how to remove /pin protect adult channels then Ofcom wouldn't have the grounds to say parents don't know how to do it , i am not saying any of this would make lazy parents more likely to use pin protection but Ofcom could not keep using it as a excuse to keep having a go at adult channels in a adult section . PS ,the Sky engineers actually set my Sky box up so i had to put in my pin before i could view anything above 12 cert , it took me 6 months before i worked out how to remove the ratings lock lol .

In today's world technology has evolved to make it near impossible to access content of an adult nature. If it requires every single digital box being looked at and adjustments made accordingly then so be it. What about changing the pin code to a six digit code instead and have this new measure made compulsory on every single box and when the new box's arrive the Adult Channels are automatically locked and it's then up to the viewer to unlock or lock the Adult Channels out. The odd's of cracking this code are astronomical and once this measure is put in place then Ofcom can concentrate on monitoring the other channels outside of the Adult Section EPG only. This current argument of protecting the children with regard to the Adult Channels can then be officially consigned to the history books thereafter. Everybody's happy and the war with Ofcom could be over.

I agree with this idea 100% , at the end of the day all we want to see is good quality adult material on tv night and day , it doesn't really bother me how many digits i have to enter in order to view adult material , if it gets Ofcom off the channels backs then i am all for it .

Can you not already do that with bs extreme and XXXporn live or does nobody want to pay for it??
On the point of It should be Sky's responsibility to pin protect the adult section as standard, I'm confused as most people seem to be against the government forcing ISP's to do the same thing in regards to porn blocks
With this new measure in place you could actually allow the babe channels to put on adult shows 24/7 similar to what you see on the Sexstation webstream. A watershed for these channels would now not have to be enforced. This is my vision for the future of the evolution of the babe channels.
The reality is, while there are parents out there that are incapable of protecting their kids, the sensible adults will suffer and unfortunatley I can't see it changing in the near future. My prediction is that censorship on the babechannels is only going to get worse before it gets better and will only start to get better in about 5-10 years from now.

I was not talking about the channels going encrypted or pay per view like the channels you have mentioned , i was agreeing with what "Scottishbloke" said in terms of adjustments being made to Sky/freeview boxes to ensure they were much more secure in preventing children from accessing the adult sections , thus getting Ofcom off the channels backs .
