That made sense. I was aware of broadcasts being cropped because I make vids and see outside the action safe area.

Do you guys have any control over how much of the broadcast is taken up by overscan?
Unfortunately it depends on your Television set. God knows why.
Seeing as there are only 3 entries so far (I'll count it as 4 NHawk Wink) The competition has been extended to Thursday 5pm.

Get your entries in!

Before I got my widesceen tv, I used an external freeview box with my old 4:3 TV.
You could choose how to watch it (via setup of freeview box)
1) Pan scan - both sides of picture chopped off
2) 16:9 - Full picture, but squashed horizontally
3) Letter box - Full picture but small size with black bands at top and bottom
I always watched using option 1
I think I understand this action/title safe conversation. One thing with my Freeview recorder; if I pause it during playback, and cycle through the "Picture In Picture" options, it sometimes shows more of the screen.

Here's some "before and after" type mobi-phone camera pictures of my TV screen -

(The black outer area being the edges of my TV screen)
Looking (in this case) at Ava's bum on the right-hand side of the screen, you can see more on the second pic, after I have cycle'd through the P.I.P button.

Just thought I'd say. That's all. Shy Smile

(Yeah I know, I can't take a straight picture. Tongue laugh )
I have a question for TwistedChaz and Armada, i have to ask it in here as they don't post in other threads. Anyway our resident Babestation employees, why does Babestation continue to have these presenters doing these fake 'live' photos everynight?. I mean you have the presenter take some photos of the girls then hand the camera to a producer and 10 SECONDS LATER the pics are on screen which is ridiculous but not as ridiculous as having 'live' photos taken on screen then the pics come up with completely different positions that were taken or even worse, sometimes completely different costumes on screen! than what we see in these supposed 'live' pics (Camilla tonight a prime example).
Now i don't order your photos as they are crap quality so it doesn't make any difference to me but i hate the way Babestation blatently lie in front of their viewers and commit fraud (harsh i agree but in a court of law it would be classed as fraud).
Why can't you just say "we have some pics that were taken earlier tonight for you" as the pics are obviously taken earlier anyway!.Rolleyes

Edit: Geri just took some pics of Ree, Ree wearing fishnet stockings all the way up to her crotch, pics come on screen 10 seconds later and Ree is quite clearly NOT wearing any stockings at all in the 'live' pics. It really is laughable.Big Laugh
i guess continuity isnt a big deal. after all the guys buying the photos just want a well framed shot of the girls pussy. personally i would much rather have a professionally taken shot that is in focus and pretty close to what the girl in question is wearing than a blurred badly framed shot that is pretty useless... the latter is a guess at why the shots you on about don't get shown... although there more authentic and of the moment, im pretty sure there would be a stream of complaints if the shots weren't up to scratch.
Here are some more ideas (any excuse to repeatedly post a cap of Lolly...). I thought the Party Girls screen had a great look, but I reckon viewers expect a 'full screen' display for the girl(s) now - especially with rival channels offering 'full screen' as standard.

I like the transparency idea, but the lack of a predictable background can reduce the impact/visibility of the text. In other words, if you've got white text, and the set behind it happens to be white, the text becomes less well defined. So another way you could get round the limited space is to have more of the graphics sharing screen areas with each other on an alternating toggle loop. In the following example I've moved the contents of a promotional black box so it shares with the main telephone number. I know it's probably not considered desirable to have the phone number taken off screen, but if you set it on, say, a five second on/off loop with some important text, viewers would still always have it to hand. Plus, I think the 'animation' in that area of the screen may draw more attention to it. You could even have different colours for different message-types to draw more attention still. One big advantage of two pieces of info sharing space is that some viewers may notice things they wouldn't normally look at. For some, reading the phone number can draw attention to the text, and for others, reading the text can draw attention to the phone number. You may even find that having the main number sporadically disappearing off screen could generate urgency among viewers to dial it more quickly while it's there. The mobile number would still remain perpetually. Anyway, this pic shows the standard black box...

And these two show how the black box (now a blue box in this instance) could toggle with the main phone number...

My next suggestion would be to move the rolling pic promo so it shares space with the 3G promo, and move both the pics/vids video inset and the accompanying pics/vids black text box into its place. So you then have this...

The vid inset and its accompanying black text box (both now bottom right) essentially fit into the space of one box because the text is on a transparent layer which fits over the video inset. The text overlap is enough to save space, but not enough to completely obscure the visual promo. This also seems to link the text with the 'product' better than writing it in a separate box. I've now shown the main phone number and 'blue text box' on a 50/50 fade to indicate they're still sharing space (but both would obviously show clearly in their allotted timespans). The above example actually has the equivalent of three black boxes on screen, but looks much less cluttered and, to me, digestible. If you feel that the bottom right is a bit inconspicuous as an area for the current vid/pic box, you could alternate its display with exclamation marks every so often to attract attention (see next pic). I think this would be better done at random than on a loop though, because people get used to loops. I think random change has more power to attract attention than positioning, and, to an extent, than size...

The only technical change I'd make to pop-up ads would be to keep them clear of the T&Cs. The T&Cs might be ignored by 99% of viewers, but if someone does want to read them, it's important that they can. Here's how Barry Scott might revise the BS Xtreme ads. To me, red looks so much more impactive than dark grey. That's not a 'white box' by the way. It's Lolly talking...

As regards the full screen ads, again I'd ensure they don't obscure the T&Cs, and on another better-safe-than-sorry note, I'd check that any alternating displays were okay with respect to viewers with photosensitive epilepsy. I'm sure you have to do stuff like that anyway, but I don't want to be suggesting stuff which could potentially compromise a viewer's safety. Anyway, all the best with the development. And just to be clear, this is not a competition entry - it's an attempt to help keep the girls full screen with a minimum of intrusion from the graphics.
Welcome to the competition Light Entertainment Wink

Seems like you've devised a good way to conserve space. Not too sure how my manager would like the main number being covered up, but definitely a good idea to have more rotating boxes on the side.
One question does the text have to be in blocks thats the problem with the graphiocs there is just way to much information on screen it becomes cluttered and untidy

would have the old layout smaller but instead of having pic blocks continuely on screen how about getting a animation of a polaroid frame with pic in with

but with a transparent background and maybe have a 10-20 second speil with pics in one and then the number and the details

one question does Extreme have ads for babestation as well or is it a one way deal think might be good to have a whos on the channels on extreme before

because i dont get the business model tbh

you are getting callers to go to extreme but then not trying them to get backto the channels i mean of course for some of the movies like the bs girls but no one can watch porn for 5 hours can they !!!!! surely getting the punter to pop over back to make a call when there isnt something they dont like on extreme means punter would spend more calls never got the fact u want your punters to only spend a fiver instead of the say 20 quid on calls or pic sets
