I think what needs to happen is straightforward, if something is no longer suitable for the age group it was initially created for (for whatever reason), don't include it in that age groups programming, but it doesn't mean that the old cartoons/shows should never be shown again, or be available to buy, stick a disclaimer on it and move on. It's like some of our classic comedy shows, OFAH for example, every now and again they stick a ''this programme contains outdated language'' message at the start, the message doesn't hurt anyone, but at least lets people know that something might be offensive by modern standards. It's simple imo, if you then watch it and are offended, that's your problem, nobody else's.

Funnily enough, I just downloaded the whole series of M*A*S*H cos I loved it when I was younger. Watching it now, the gay and race jokes are a little cringeworthy. But, I agree, there should be some allowance for the fact that standards change and what was considered acceptable -- even clever and funny -- in the 1980s, is now considered offensive. I am reminded of Homer Simpson reading the funny pages, giggling to himself, and saying: "Oh Andy Capp ... you loveable wife-beating drunk."

The warning "sticker" about "outdated language" seems eminently sensible to me.
I amazed south park is still on in this easily offended world... they just dont give a shit lol

Also how has johnny bravo not been taken out that guy was a proper sex pest... "Hey Foxy Mama, You smell kinda pretty. Wanna smell me? Hoo-hah!" Lol
Who the fuck thought Dickout would be the right Hashtag for tonight's situation at Clapham Common Tongue

The fucking Irony

Also be ironic if only 2 people to lose there Jobs over the situation were Priti Patel and Cressida Dick both women but there you go
I just found out that both of the two fat ladies are dead Surprised Wtf happened
^I'm good at history questions. They've been dead for years. One died in 1999 and the other in 2014.

And the on the ground officer in charge was also a woman. bladewave
The irony of seeing the police response to a vigil for a woman who had been attacked and killed, alegedly by a policeman, was to have woman forcefully pushed to the ground and arrested by police officers.

Whilst in Glasgow........................
The Met clearly trying to respond to criticism of racism over BLM protests by being shit towards everybody, their new slogan could be:

The Metropolitan Police: Equality in Universal Discrimination
If anything I would say there is a lot more to come from the fallout to this but certainly will say the Met were too heavy handed on this one.

If Patel & Dick lose their job it will be bloody good riddance. to both. The Home Office has become a laughing stock under Patel's stewardship
And did they ever solve the Rachel Nickell murder?

Does make me wonder just how many police officers have actually committed serious crimes while on duty & have yet to be investigated I would not be surprised if under Dick's commmission there are several who think they have got away with it.
The police tactics were shocking. But lets not forget this gathering was refused permission, even after a court appeal, and cancelled by the official organisers.

Any crowd footage I've seen showed thousands of people (doesn't matter if they're women) crowded together with zero social distancing. And to cap it all they had speakers on the bandstand, which was only going to make people crowd in closer to see and hear.
So more of a rally than a vigil.

I reiterate though, none of that excuses the police tactics.
