While it is annoying to the viewer they do it to rake in more money. Two girls on phones=twice the income. I don't know how many times I have said this but BS do not give a shit about the viewer-they are after phone calls and selling pics and vids. Watching the free to air shows provides no income whatsoever. Before anyone says it-yes I agree that having a screen free from clutter might encourage some viewers to call, but BS say that they get improved call rates when they advertise, rather than when they don't. I feel we are all shouting in deaf ears on this subject sadly.

Well i for one never call paige when she is lumbered with someone else

Plus there's a limit to how creative they can be without any props. Used to have some great calls with Paige on the old Partyland sets with the desks, or the hospital bed, even though it was supposedly the tame channel (happy days
). Even a glimpse of the old sofa's cause for exitement these days
