^Don't be so ridiculous. Such heinous crimes don't happen in Sadiq's Socialist London Utopia. People don't get stabbed, Lesbian couples aren't beaten up on buses and the streets aren't awash with pickpockets

However there are no bikini clad women on billboard ads on the Underground so everything is fine. Big Laugh
Great quote from Boris 'Bluster' Johnson "kick the can again, and we kick the bucket!" Basically it means if you shuffle your feet about the Conservatives as a party will die...but I doubt that will happen. However at this point in preceedings I feel that Boris is going to be the next leader and PM - look what people said about Trump, well this could be our Trump in No.10 - trouble is most of the alternatives aren't any good and the only person I think who could do a better job would be Jeremy Hunt(at least he hasn't done anything to upset other countries with his words like Boris) but anything could happen.

As to this idea of climate change and a "net zero emissions target" in 2050 I can't see that happening unless you convince people to give up their petrol cars, stop using gas to cook and heat with and cut the carbon footprint by flying less. I am all for clean air and the next generation of kids growing up in a cleaner, safer country and undoubtedly your health will be 10 times better BUT how do you convince people this is good? One other thing to consider. When there is a problem with water shortages or burst pipes and people need water to drink, bathe in and other uses, the council will organise emergency water in PLASTIC bottles which then adds to the problem of single-use plastics in the world. Re-useable bottles are a good idea but you need shops, supermarkets and petrol stations to install free water taps to fill those up. We have some, but not enough. And electric cars, great idea, quiet and cleaner but you need thousands of points up and down the country and again we don't have enough of those. Fix all those problems and you might just get to a point where we do reduce emissions.
One of the biggest problems that I have with the plan is that it involves dumping our carbon on economically smaller countries which doesn't really solve the problem just shift it. As for cars and homes if the government provides the infrastructure and means then prices will fall, that is already the case with renewables. 2050 is 31 yrs away, how many times do you change your car in 31 yrs, there is definitely the time for everyone to switch to electric cars if they are available and we have the infrastructure to support them.

We need to double down on our pursuit of renewables, we are currently the EU nation that provides the most in subsidies to the fossil fuel industry an industry that has makes billions in dollars in profit, lets cut back on that and use the money to build and subsidise renewables and drive the price down.
I think I'll go and blow some savings on something with a nice V8 under the bonnet.Big Laugh
Living up to their name :

Change UK has applied to the Electoral Commission to change its name following a dispute with the petitions website Change.org.

The party has written to the elections watchdog asking to be renamed The Independent Group for Change.

It says Change.org is threatening to sue its MPs unless the party alters its name by 15 June.

Change UK - originally called the Independent Group - was formed in March by former Labour and Tory MPs.
I'D suggest Change.org sues the Change UK MP'S anyway, the MP'S should have checked for any other organisations who might have names similar to theirs, before they formed.

Hope the electoral commission allows then the Independent newspaper can threaten to sue them Tongue Tongue Big Grin
Half of them quit the party after the EU elections and Chuka Umunna has now joined the Libdems.

The rest of them should just follow suit and be done with it. They're just wasting everyone's time now.
yep like the lib/dem forging of power went so well...while they have that geratic duffy v of a cunt on board they will rot...without the brexit banging they would be squashed by the greens

C U is a Nasty Twit
he is as big a toad as grove
I wonder if Chuka might not consider running for leader of the LibDems after Sir Vince Cable steps down-he'll have Jo Swinson running against him that's for sure(she's made no secret of that desire to lead them) but would he consider it, after all he did throw his hat in the ring to be Labour leader once but pulled out because he didn't like the intrusive nature of the Press(really? he's a politician and as such cannon fodder for the Press!!)Big Grin Perhaps he has changed his mind and might feel that HE could lead the LibDems to further glory-we shall wait and see.
^ He's already said no and indeed that he will never be leader of the Lib Dems
