felliani only put in a transfer request about 5 hours ago, pretty silly to leave it that late, but he is a proven prem player, who else should they have got? they wouldn't have outbid arsenal for ozil they wanted him more, anyway although we say they need more players the squad they have won the prem easily last season lets not forget that, so we can only say they should have brought more players if they do badly only time will tell

That was probably about the time it got serious and Everton told him to do it as part of the deal, to void bonuses etc. So they have months to buy Fellaini for £22m and they decide '5 hours ago' to actually pay £27.5m instead. Yeah, they really wanted him.
wow, they pay 5m over the odds, madrid paid 40m over the odds for bale, and man city have paid over the odds for many players

i think felliani will be good for utd but we will see

It's not that. It's that they could of had him a month ago for £22m. And they never bothered. Surely you can see that if really they wanted him they would of bought him then. Pay the money, trigger the clause, done with. NOW all of a sudden there's a rush on because they have nobody in and they end up paying £27m with minutes to go! Panic.

As a United fan I have to be concerned over the way they have conduced business this summer. Teams go into the summer knowing who their targets are. United apparently wanted one or two from a group of 8 they had identified. We have needed a midfielder for two seasons now so to leave the deal until the last minute is ridiculous and as has previously been pointed out, to pay over the price that we could have got him for 3 or 4 weeks before? Where is the business sense there?
Fellaini will improve the squad for sure but he is hardly the world class player they were promising. Not sure its a panic buy but its a worrying strategy they have employed this year. Just hope its a learning lesson for Ed Woodward and David Moyes.

Fellaini just isn't a Man United 'type' player in my eyes, i have a few friends who are United fans and they all were disappointed that they were even interested in him and baines.

He's too big and not the most ellegant player on the ball, just can't see where he can fit in the team, it will be interesting to see what happens with Rooney now
thought untied did alright in the window. added one of the top midfielders in the premier league (fellani) who will do the holding role in midfield and add to united's goal threat from midfield, signed a promising young defender (varela) and most importantly kept wayne rooney

wouldn't surprise me if they go in for Herrera again in january

I agree Dan

I'm suprised united did not go for Ozil earlier in the window instead of Cesc, he would have been perfect fit for them just what they needed.

Pretty sure Fellaini was a panic buy leaving it so late on, also paying Everton 4m more than if they had bought him in July. I think he will still do an ok job for them but it's not the type of player they needed realistically. I think if anything Fellaini would have suited Arsenal more to be their strong defensive midfielder they have been looking for..

Ozil would have been a great signing for Man United. But why sign him when doesn't even use Kagawa? Ozil I think was even interested in a move to Man United, but they turned him down.

I don't think Fellaini is a panic buy as Man United have been interested in him all summer, but why have they waited so long to get it done and why pay an extra £4 million as you say when they could have just paid out his buy out clause of £23.5 million earlier in the summer. I actually think Arsenal have got Flamini, who is just the player to fill that defensive midfield role. He looks like a leader and organiser as well, which is just what Arsenal need in their squad.
Thought West Brom did some decent business yesterday but i would have been far happier if we had got Lukaku on loan for another season. Sessegnon is a great addition to the team, Anichebe will be ok but is way overpriced at £6 million quid.
