You mean on another THREAD.
If the problem was a technical issue why did both 912 and 959 disappear at exactly midnight? It does seem more likely that a deadline was set for the removal of the channels and when that deadline came to pass the EPG removed them.

As mentioned before, the girls on the channels at the time where completely unaware of the problem so that does indicate that they and potentially Bang' had no idea what had happened which does back up the technical issue theory but again it does sound odd that if the issue was a fibre-connection fault as stated by Bang' that the EPG lost the channels rather than just keep them and display no channel available, snow, a fault message or similar notice.

The simplest explanation is that the EPG agreement was cancelled, not renewed or not paid for by Bang' or the firm that manage their EPG agreement and that lead to 912 and 959 being removed. Such a stupid thing as non-payment of a bill can lead to such issues and does happen. I personally used to work for a firm who didn't pay for their backup ISP connection and when they needed to fail-over to it during a disaster test they were surprised to find it wasn't working!
It may be the simplest explanation but it's also inadequate as it doesn't explain what happened to the Bang Babes freeview channel which went at the same time.
Hmm disappearing channels, days of silence from the Broadcaster, Broadcaster blaming Sky, suggestions they may return on Friday.....

Deja vu. Big Grin

If you check back in this thread, that is explained by Sky owning ch20 (renamed channel one by Sky) since its takeover of Virgin.
Ch98 timeshares with ch20

Who said it was exactly midnight? The original report of the problem on the day is timed at 22:48. Huh
If it is a Sky EPG error, then all Sky need to do, is re-install the channels onto the EPG, and initialise an update.

Every box would then be updated with the new EPG within a few hours. The only reason for a delay, would be if Sky are being awkward about it, and not willing to issue an update outside it's normal schedule.

yep 959 went off first shortly followed by 912 between 10:45-10:50
I still think the removal of the channels is Ofcom related , it can't be a fibre-connection fault because the channels never stopped transmitting and are still transmitting , they just got removed from the Sky EPG , and you can manually tune them in , i don't think it has any thing to do with non payment of fines like some people have suggested because Tease Me Tv is still transmitting it's services on 3 day time channels 902 , 911 , 915 and 2 night time shows 902 , 911 , so Bangmedia would also have been prevented from earning money and transmitting on these channels . So why did Ch 902 not also get removed ? i have just checked and the licence holder/parent company of 902 is NOT Playboy , the company that holds the licence for Sky Ch 902 is BANGMEDIA . The only difference i can see is that 912 and 959 got re-branded from the usual Tease Me TV name to TMTN1 and TMTN2 and now have allegedly a Dutch licence whereas 902 still has the UK licence , i still think it's this loophole that they have supposedly got on 912 and probably 959 that has been the problem , i think the Dutch licence allows them to go further than the UK licence , Ofcom probably don't agree with a more explicit shows so they have instructed Sky to remove the Sky EPGs for the Dutch licenced channels . the proof will be if or when the channels come back , will they be as explicit as they were before they got removed and will they still be TMTN1 and TMTN2 or will they come back as Tease Me Tv , if they come back tame and if they come back as Tease Me Tv , then you can bet your bottom Dollar that it is Ofcom that has been the cause of the channels getting removed and may well have instructed Bangmedia to apply for a Uk licence in order to transmit their shows on Sky's EPG . I think this could also be the problem with the freeview show if it also has the dutch licence , Ofcom may well have instructed the freeview tech guy's to block the signal and it may not be the fact that the freeview show time shares with Sky owned FV 20 .
epg on sky is skys epg they can allow and not allow channels to appear on. an epg allows the use (us the viewer) to auto tune.
