Shane Lowry is the champion after a final round 65 saw him edge out Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm by one shot to reach -17 by the end of what ultimately played out as a 54 hole tournament.
A good European result there Tongue
Just happy one of the 18 LIV players didn't win. A word for Garcia who has slagged off the DP World Tour. He & the 18 others took places that loyal full-time tour members could've occupied. Sergio doesn't even like the course, only played it twice in the last 22 years. In 2014 he withdrew after one round, & again pulled out after a 76 opening round, with no explanation.
In absolute agreement with all you said there Boomer.
Robert McIntyre of Scotland fended off US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick in a first extra hole to win the Italian Open today after both tied on -14.
Rory McIlroy finished a further two strokes back at -12.
^^ Liked the course, which will be next years Ryder Cup venue. Great to have a par 5 for the 18th hole in match-play, in close matches it offers the potential for exciting golf, a good risk & reward hole with an eagle just as likely as a bogey.
The US won the President's Cup. Must be having had all those Presidents wot made all the difference (?)
Rory McIlroy is back on top of the world rankings after a one stroke victory in the CJ Cup on the PGA tour.
He finished on -17.
Jon Rahm has today won the flagship DP World Tour Championship by two strokes from Tyrrell Hatton.
Rahm posted a winning score of -20.

Rory McIlroy finished fourth.
Rory became only the 2nd player to win the FedEx & Race to Dubai titles in the same year, as he equals the feat of Henrik Stenson in 2013.
