Miguel Angel Jimenez broke the European Tour Appearance record held by Sam Torrance when he made hos 707th start at the Hero Open at the Forest of Arden on Thursday.
England's Andy Sullian claimed his 1st European Tour win for 5 years in the English Championship at Hanbury Manor in Ware.
Scottie Scheffler was the 12th player to shoot a 59 on the PGA Tour at the Northern Trust in Boston.
Mcllroy is 3 shots off the lead at the Tour Championship after he birdied his final 3 holes in round one. Dustin Jonsson & Jon Rahm shrae the lead.
The 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie played his final round on the European Tour today in the Scottish Open, his 620th Tour appearance.
Tiger Woods is set to play in the Father/Son Challenge event in Orlando next month for the first time. His son won back- to-back tournaments by a combined total of 8 shots last summer.
South African Cristiaan Bezuidenhout who last week won his 2nd title at leopards Creek SA, has continued his form, & is tied for the lead after the 1st round at Sun City SA.
An amazing story started when he accidentally took some rat poison when he was 2 years old., because of this he suffered health problems & developed a stutter. You can only imagine how hard it must have been growing up, & it led to his dedication to the game of golf.
he had another major set-back when he was banned for 2 years for using the banned beta-blocker drug, which he was taking to control his anxiety. This was later reduced to 9 months.
He's now broke into the top 50 in the world rankings & can only go on to bigger & better things. Full of admiration with what he has overcome. Never ducks out of interviews because of his speak problem. A class act, on & off the course.
Back to back wins for Bezuidenhout, as he finished 5 shots clear in the South African Open at Sun City.
Tomorrow sees the culmination of the European Tour, with the 2020 DP World Tour Championship, & the Race To Dubai winner.
All but 4 of the 64 man field can win what was formerly the Order Of Merit. Willet, Stenson, Hovland & Wattananond are out of the running.
Reed, Fleetwood, Morikawa & Westwood can all win the Race To Dubai if the win this tournament. Bezuidenhout, Perez, Rai, & Hatton can do it with a tournament win, but only if Reed doesn't finish in solo second place.
Fitzpatrick has his 1st win for over 2 years, with a putt on the last green, a 2nd place for Westwood secures him the Race to Dubai, & the 3rd European Order of Merit in his career.
