Good to see both Danny Willett and Martin Kaymer with top 10 finishes in Turkish Open both have not finished in the top 10 for some time, especially Willett after all his back injury problems since his Masters win
Mickelson and Woods had their much-vaunted mega-money showdown and Phil won, albeit on the 22nd hole (!)

Exactly 1 year later, Rory McIlroy won the Players Championship, which should again set him up nicely for not winning the US Masters next month laugh
Ryder Cup 2026 announced for Adare Manor, Ireland. Bit early to start a separate thread for it though Wink

Rory McIlroy last night sealed victory in the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup title. In doing so he claimed the £12.2 million prize on offer.
But the Americans will still call him a loser next Spring when he fails at the US Masters again.

Well done to him, even with the wonky staggered start.
Solheim Cup level at 8-8 after day two at Gleneagles. The singles is generally the US strong suit so Europe have work to do to regain the trophy.
Europe have beaten the USA 14.5 - 13.5 to regain the Solheim Cup.
From looking dead and buried a late surge of European points sealed a remakable comeback triumph.
Didn't see all that much of the Solheim Cup due to the Ashes overlapping! What I did catch though, was a good watch (as good as golf ever gets) The crowd numbers , while good, were well down on the spectator interest shown to the Ryder Cup. I can never understand this, and not just the Solheim v Ryder cup, but events in other sports too! I wonder why this is?? Do people seriously believe that the standards brought to these sports by women are far short of men - particularly in sports that do not/should not rely purely on 'brute strength/physical stamina?? I don't believe they are!! There is also one physically demanding sport which has a sizeable prize money differential that I don't see as justified....Alpine Downhill racing!

In Golf, are men now being paid a substantial premium for just hitting the ball further off the tee?? Seems crazy to me!

Great finish to a close contest!
Danny Willett won the PGA Championship, his best result since the 2016 US Masters Smile
