I remember in think in one issue o the Radio Times or somewhere there was a picture of some school pupils who actually completed one... ii onder if the instructions are still available?
Daleks still have the power to scare kids, the newer ones could fly! I also remember Jon Pertwee & Tom Baker("fancy a jelly baby") and of course their female assistants. I was in the car going past the BBC TVCentre and this weird hover mobile suddenly came out of the gates, this turned out to be a Doctor Who prop because it was replacing his faithful Model T Ford car (in yellow) 'Bessie'
Record shops we had back then. Our Price, HMV, Tower Records and Virgin including the megastore in Oxford Street which was huge. Loved going into shops sifting through all the albums and singles-also remember Woolworths used to have a big record selection and Old Gold label singles.

Even as a 7 year old (?) I thought Jo Grant played by Katy Manning who was Jon Pertwee’s slightly scatterbrained assistant was a lovely looking girl. Do 7 year olds have crushes? If so then she was my firstSmile
^it counts as a crush mate so you're okay Big Grin I think some might cite Leela as a crush next!!

In York there used to be a a great record shop called Track Records, the heavy metal section was utterly comprehensive for a fan like me,I bought so many albums on CD and vinyl on a weekly basis during the 90s with my paper round money.Great T-shirt section as well,I was gutted when it closed permanently.

We had a shop like that in Wrexham called Phase One records...was absolutely gutted when it closed down. Loads of people here with great memories of the place which is still much missed.

Oh yes my first crush was Kathy Smallwood the 100 & 200m athlete a stunning brunette and I was very aware of her at 8 yrs old especially when I went to athletics meetings(brought up in an athletics environment rather than football) my film crush was Kim Richards child actor in Escape To Witch Mountain and Return From Witch Mountain. I also remember one assistant Tegan(Aussie air stewardess) played by Janet Fielding in Doctor Who-man she had lovely legs.
OK...here it is..the worst thing I did. About 11 or 12 years old on Halloween, I was out on my bike on the High Street going through our village, and was carrying a couple of eggs in my jacket pocket.

Going past the Launderette and the owner of the place, a right cranky narky old bitch who I swear hated everyone under the age of 18 was shutting up shop.

My intention was to splat the windows of the Launderette...but being on a bike going at a decent speed, my aim was a bit off....basically, this egg smacked this old bint straight in the forehead and in her blue rinse...

I feel bad about it now but at the time I was howling with laughter so much I nearly fell off my bike...seeing her wiping egg yolk from her face and pulling egg shell from her hair going “FUCKING BASTARD...WHEN I GET YOU!”

That night it took me ages to get to sleep, my bed was shaking with my suppressed laughter trying to escape every time the image of what had happened came to mind..

I’ll still remember that event on my last day on this ball...
