The purists need a hero Big Grin

Gutted for you, I only joined in the later half of this season and I got a joker in my first game Tongue.....I'm probably not making this situation feel any better and no doubt you'll get a joker at some point mate - mine was probably a fluke WinkSmile....

Predicting on your own team isn't easy, Important it's hard to take the emotion out of it. I gained 22 points from Leeds matches, but what's more hilarious is that I predicted that they would gain 70 points, Big Laugh which with a recalculation would've seen them finish 4th. Rolleyes Something to work on for next season, & area in need of improvement. Important

Thought, I'd revisit my views from last season. After some thought, the 22 points last year from Leeds matches was ok, & this time I managed 29, with 5 correct scores.
My total points were only 7 short, mainly down to 7 less correct results. I had one less joker, but I balanced that out with 2 more correct scores. Overall, not the worst defense of a title, with enough points to have made runner-up last year.
As a prediction's rookie, a win, a World Cup runner-up & now 3rd place is better than I'd hoped, but it's tending in the wrong direction.

Already looking forward to next season, & to see if my theory regarding the pitfalls of predicting on my own team will be an advantage or not. On one hand, it will take something away from my enjoyment, on the other, it could take some pressure off.

Again, there will be 3 new promoted teams that I know less about, & I will naturally be watching more Championship Football. So that's me getting my excuses in early, & I'll predict that I'll be doing a Leeds & scrapping near the bottom of the table. Whatever happens, I intend to enjoy it.Smile
Hi everyone, just wanted to get people's views of how soon is too soon to start the new season?

I noticed from a quick look at the premier league fixtures there's only just over two weeks before things get underway, Friday 11th August. However in light of recent sad news, including in the world of football, I'm wondering if beginning it now is disrespectful.

I am putting the opening post together and have it saved as a draft, just wanted to get all your thoughts before I upload, thanks.
Perhaps launch it on 1st August.
Start of a new month and ten days before the season start should be sufficient for people to notice and get their predictions in with maybe a reminder post at half way Smile.
I agree with snooks about starting the prediction thread at the start of August.

Maybe a bit of publicity is needed to get more of the guys to get involved...
I'm interested!
Yes I'm interested
I’m in
Yeah I will be in again as well even though I'm a terrible predictor laugh.
I'll be trying again this year... Blush

Boomer hasn't been on the forum for nearly 1 month, so I'm hoping that he will be back soon.

I've amended my signature to give the thread a bit of publicity.

Anyone who wants to join this years predictions and is unsure what to do then can message Regenerated or myself for advice.
