Good goal on the break. One or two better individual performances tonight compared what we have seen in recent games. A win here will boost the squads fragile confidence no end.
fuck falcao! Smile
That was encouraging from England tonight.
The intentions were good, the players were trying to do the right things.
Yes at times they looked a little indecisive and they made the sort of mistakes that a relatively inexperienced group of players can easily make. But overall the players gave it a good go and tried to be positive so fair play to them for that.
Hodgson set the team up and they did pretty well all things considered.
Joe Hart is now key imo as there is nobody else who is particularly vocal in the defence.
He had a fine game and communicated loud and clear with his back line as well as making a few good saves.
Of course tonights win is hardly cause for mass jubilation, delirium and anticipation of epic scale glory to come.
But it is a tricky banana skin game overcome and a bit of a boost to the confidence of everyone so I say welcome it and move on.
Excellent result tonightSmile
Yes an excellent result and a huge night for Roy Hodgson. His tactics were vindicated and his choice of personnel paid off.
According to Talk Sport England should win every game because their group is so bad and because of that they will go into Euro 2016 with no experience of playing anyone decent in qualifying
They do have a point there, although Switzerland are currently 9th in the FIFA rankings and were favourites to beat England last night.
England's 2-0 win has ended Switzerland's home run of 9 matches unbeaten (won 6 and drawn 3).
It was a good win, but there a few more tricky games to come. Any thoughts that it would be an easy group is dispelled by Lithuania winning 2-0 over San Marino. It look an easy group for both us and Switzerland, but we still have some tricky games to come.
