Have to say this made me smile

European Athletics Team Championships: Shot putter Jolien Boumkwo runs 100m hurdles - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/athletics/66010470

Smile
Katarina Johnson-Thompson is the Heptathlon World Champion for a second time after holding off American Anna Hall to clinch Gold by 20 points in Budapest.
Phenomenal effort.
Is was good to see the frown replaced by a smile.

Hughes also won a bronze in the 100 metres.

I believe that Michael Johnson stated that this years GB wasn't as good a previous years and wouldn't beat seven medals.

He may be correct but we already have 3 medals, so he may be wrong.
A medal of each colour.
One Gold, one Silver and one Bronze.

Very good.
That was a close men's 100m.

Second' third and fourth all given 9.88
The performance of KJT is not to be underestimated. From a near 100 point deficit against a heavy favourite Anna Hall starting day two it was a huge ask to overturn it and claim the Gold medal.

Long jump.
6.37m then 6.45m then 6.54m.
Improvement in every round.

Javelin: 46.14m - PB.

800m: 2:05.63 - PB.

A really competitive, champions effort under pressure in a World Championship.
Just being able to lay those performance cards out on the table should be such a boost to her confidence and self belief.
She has suffered so much and I am so pleased for Kat. It is a quite brilliant performance that any heptathlete would be proud of.
So pleased for her too. Especially all three medal places were occupied by Americans which is something you don't often see in a heptahlon or a decathlon - plus a hundred points down at start of day two - that took some doing.
She's had her fair share of injuries as well over the years, and I hope Jess was pleased and proud of her as I don't think Jess ever had that big a deficit. I hope now that she can stay injury free for Paris next year, and hopefully add an Olympic title, Olympic titles are much harder to win. I don't think she has completed the set though.

Well done to Katerina and hopefully more GB medals to come.
Faith Kipyegon is just ridiculous SurprisedeekSurprised
Heck of a brave run from Latvian 19 year old Agate Caune in the 5000m heats.
Took it out to build a lead of over 100m before being reeled in on the last lap.
But she qualified for the final.
Great effort.
GOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDD.

Josh Kerr in the 1500m.

WOW.

What a run.
