Laura Muir has backed up her bronze in the 3000m with a superb silver in the 1500m at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham.
Dina Asher-Smith has set a new womens 100m British record in Oslo with a time of 10.92 seconds.
Christine Ohurugo, twice womens' 400m world Champion silver in London Olympics & Team GB's women's team captain has just announced her retirement at the age of 34 due to ongoing injuries

All the very best in retirement to her.
Just learned that Irena Szewinska, one of the real greats of the sport has passed away. Her career was coming to a close just as I was getting into the sport so I didn't really see her run but by all accounts she was a real gentlewoman.
British Indoor Athletics Championships Day 2-was watching online earlier the women's Shot Putt. We have some good throwers(which is about time) with Sophie McKenna and Ameilia Strickler and Sarah Omaregie. The difference between her and the others is size. Sarah is a slight little thing yet she can lob that shot a fair distance. Compare her to Strickler and McKenna who look like shot putters-in other words large, fat and powerful, not exactly pin-up material(unless you like large women) but you wouldn't want to pick a fight with them. The other thing I watched was the women's pole vault which featured our best vaulter, Holly Bradshaw(neƩ Bleasdale) who just will not run faster on the runway. If she did she would get better heights and actually challenge some of the best in the world for medals. She is lazy, she won't do it because she believes she can still get over...Wrong Holly!, you will NEVER get anywhere near the best if you don't have a faster run up.
Laura Muir breaks the British indoor mile record that has stood for years to Kirsty Wade(nee McDermott). She broke it by a street this afternoon in Birmingham blowing away the competition and just missed out on the European record.
Holly Bradshaw won the Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.81m beating some high class opposition.
Broke her own British record too. She needs a bit more speed and a longer pole and then she will be right up there challenging for medals.

Her record is under scrutiny, I've been told that the prototype shoes that she was wearing may have not been approved
I think that is nonsense I can't see how that should make a difference-it could be something to do with the advertising of the shoes - prototype or not they would surely have been cleared for her to run in before the race.
