Zharnel Hughes misses out

Hughes was unlucky...Sad

That has been the story of these championships so far for Team GB, so many near misses. I do think over the winter many athletes will need to work hard to prepare for Tokyo next summer and maybe Athletics UK needs to structure in a good programme of indoor meetings for the team, so that the athletes' can see where they are progressing and hopefully the Olympic qualifying standards will not be set too high to reach Tokyo. It would be important that the UK trials are held early enough next outdoor season so that athletes have enough time to find meetings after the trials to gain the standards needed.

The action kicks off later today.

And it's not on Eurosport which means I'll have to put up with the bloody awful BBC coverage.

I do like Toni Minichello in the box.
His expert technical analysis of field events is very informative.

Agreed. He's been a revelation.
Next on track : Women's 400m semi-finals (Emily Diamond, Laviai Nielsen)
Shame for Lavaiai Nielsen being out in lane 9 wasn't helping her much
Better run from Emily Diamond finishing fourth
Dina Asher-Smith safely into the 200m final with a semi final winning time of 22.16 seconds.
Rest up now for the final tomorrow.
Toni Minichello - wasn't he Jess Ennis' oah?

Did your c key stop working laugh
sometime it does mate - so does my 9 key!!
sooooooooo lose for Adam Gemili - another fourth place and SB. He just needs to relax and stay healthy for next year and i know he was capable of going under 20 secs tongiht but he just needs some time away after these championships, and start thinking about next year. He is somewhere nearly back to his best and the injuries that have plagued him for two years cost him probably two years of his best sprinting years> I'd def pick him for the relays
