The first thing that needs to be said about Arsenal at the moment is that the 2 wins this week shouldn't paper over the cracks. We need reinforcements desperately! It's ridiculous that we've left it so late, but we still have 9 days to make some quality additions in this transfer window, if we make the effort to get deals done. It looks like Flamini will join but I hope we're not signing him just because he's a free transfer.

I am a massive gooner. I have been saying for the last 4 years st least that we will never win a trophy as long as Arsene Wenger is in charge ( I even put my money where my mouth is and won very big on the Carling Cup final defeat to Birmingham) no its not pessimistic it is very much realistic.
I really hope there are other Gooner's out there like me and say its time for Wenger to move on for the good of the club. The man only has a plan A and finds every excuse when something doesn't go right and doesnt blame our players, how can we learn from our mistakes?! (Hint: We dont learn from our mistakes)
I dont blame Wenger for the lack of spend however, I have come to understand that Arsenal is a business first and a football club second. The shareholders need their profit hence why we always make a profit during the transfer window.
The club cant fool me with their bidding tactics this summer, making it look like we are serious and bidding big for top names to keep fans off their back but are only bidding for people we know we can't get.
The plan will backfire though as undoubtedly panic buying will take place on or near deadline day and IF we do get anyone we will undoudtedly pay way too much for them as other clubs know how much money we have to burn.

Apart from Newcastle I struggle to see what other club is gonna sell their best players to us this late, dunno how wenger could leave let it go on this long, gotta see what happens
Arsenal are about to sign Fernando Torres from Chelsea. Bendtner will finally leave and join Crystal Palace.
There's some definite news at last for all you Arsenal supporters - Flamini has signed and Bendtner is staying.

I would agree. I just don't understand why Wenger doesn't spend big sometimes. I can never understand how he can say that there isn't the quality of player for Arsenal. Which division is he looking in? lol
I bet he must regret RVP going so cheaply.
Mesut Ozil is having an Arsenal medical this afternoon and if he passes the deal is done. Goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has already had a medical and has joined on a season-long loan from Palermo. Arsenal are also working on a loan deal for Demba Ba, but Chelsea are holding things up because they want to sell him, not loan him. Angel Di Maria is another possibility and Arsenal are very keen on him, athough time is running out for that deal.
