I must say since the first two games of the season the progress made by Arsenal under Emery has been great to see and to be fair to the team we played well in that match away to Chelsea. The performance against Liverpool was definitely an encouraging one, I feared that we might succumb to wave after wave of their high pace, high energy attack but we fought hard and controlled large part of the game.

Obviously if you are going to be serious challengers then you have to beat teams like Liverpool at home at the least but Arsenal are a work in progress but so are Liverpool, Klopp has had them for 3 yrs, Emery has had them for 3 months (I am only counting professional games from start of season) and we are only 4 points behind them. The defence is still a real problem, if we can find our Van Dijk in the Jan or summer window, we can be real contenders next season

Torreira is a beast

Was good to see a manager willing to make 2 changes at half time and gamble to get back into the game rather than wait until 60/70 minutes
His substitutions so far this season have been amazing, there was a stat that came up on Match of the Day showing the top 5 most influential substitutes by club:

Arsenal: Goals 8 Assists 7 Total Involvements 15
Chelsea: Goals 7 Assists 4 Total Involvements 11
Leicester: Goals 3 Assists 3 Total Involvements 6
Everton: Goals 3 Assists 2 Total Involvements 6
Liverpool: Goals 4 Assists 1 Total Involvements 5

A nice cushion on second place Chelsea and then the rest are just way behind, there are some good managers in there with some good squads & those are just the top 5 there is even more in the next 15, so to be that far out in front is really something

As for Spurs it was great to get the win over them, they have been making so much noise that they are the top team in North London now, despite the fact that they haven't won a single trophy and their best as pretty much equaled our worst. 13 League titles & 13 FA Cups to 2 League titles & 8 FA Cups, they are and always will be the subordinate club and it was good to put those fucking Spuds back in their place

One more thing Aubameyang > Kane
we have big players who can change games again. i'm certainly not getting carried away. i'll enjoy this win and then return to earth quietly with my realists hat on. Smile
I am a perpetual pessimist, I thought we would lose this game after the beat Chelsea so handsomely and I fear we will lose to United because no matter how bad they are doing and how well we are doing they always beat us. On top of that, beating a Spurs team that just cruised passed Chelsea then losing to a poor United team a few days later would be so us
the boys. Smile

how many of you Arsenal fans on here think that Arsenal shouldn't be paying Ozil's wages when he isn't playing regularly & are more worried that the new manager is not getting his tactics right?
I see that Arsene Wenger has got a new job, working at FIFA
