I almost made a post yesterday saying that although the standard of the live shows has taken a definite turn for the better, there was still a problem in that the same few girls are being recycled a bit too often. But then I notice that there was someone new on last night, so perhaps things are improving in that regard too.

My guess is that "slips" are tolerated provided they are brief and not massively explicit. "Slips" are tolerated in BBFC rated 18 films on the same basis. If they are long enough to get percy out and get erect they are almost always edited out, but a brief 1 second flash enough to show what is going on is accepted. Flashes become less and less acceptable if they are in close up, the harder the scene or the less mainstream the action, so a brief flash of open pussy, erect cock, oral or even vaginal penetration might be OK, but forget about ejaculation (from the penis), anal, group or flashes in a BDSM context.

The other factor is that live shows are classified as advertising, recorded ones are not, and there are different rules.

It seems as though BS have finally abandoned the idea of trying to get the "regular" girls to do more daring stuff, as was the original idea behind the channel, and are now importing "porn stars" and other girls who are mostly prepared to do full frontal. The regular girls' appearances seem to be confined to the recorded (and much repeated) segments which generally wouldn't offend a meeting of the Mothers' Union (actually I've heard these latter can get pretty raunchy ).

Mate,have you watched bsX,..the live shows have advertisements in a big bright blue box taking up imho a fifth of the screen.
They are constantly rolling advertisements to try to get you to visit Sexstation or phone filthy sluts etc. etc.
On top of that they have a small grey rolling bar at the bottom of the screen advertising exactly the same thing (which in my opinion is all they need).
Pay per view,or Pay for adverts?

Yes i know they show adverts, but the point i was making was that BSX is the product that you get when you have paid for the channel after seeing the adverts on the un-encrypted channel, on top of that BSX isn't regulated in accordance with Ofcom's advertising code classification guidelines in any case. I think what eccles was bearing in mind is that in 2010 Ofcom reclassified the babe channels as teleshopping, they then came under the advertising code rules and they had less leeway than editorial programs because they now come under the advertising code rules/guidelines, before 2010 they weren't classed as Teleshopping programs and weren't classed as advertising even though they showed adverts for various services. In September 2010 Ofcom banned all babe channels from broadcasting on freeview before 12am as this new babe channel advertising code for freeview doesn't allow adult babe channels to be shown before 12am .
NICAM the Dutch regulator didn't take this view, they regulate totally differently to Ofcom, NICAM saw nothing wrong with the babe channels whether that be encrypted or un-encrypted from starting before 12am

NICAM the regulator of BSX stands for "Netherlands Institute for the Classification of Audio-visual Media" they regulate on the basis of what age limit and content classification they give a tv program, they do this in the same way as films/DVD etc are given classifications, BSX is regulated on the basis that it classed as having a Dutch 16 plus minimum age rating and shows the Dutch symbols for containing sex, it doesn't matter to NICAM if the shows are live or recorded or have phone line numbers on screen etc, they regulate purely on the age and content classification that the program operates under, ie 16+ sexual content, BSX may show adverts but Nicam doesn't regulate them on the basis of BSX being a advert/Teleshopping program in the same way as Ofcom would when regulating the live shows .

I think eccles was forgetting that Ofcom doesn't regulate BSX so doesn't come under Ofcom teleshopping licence conditions when he made his post mentioning that the shows are classed as advertisements and have different rules etc for the live shows.

BSX operates under NICAM Regulations and not Ofcom teleshoppng licence conditions/rules. NICAM regulate in accordance with Dutch and European Laws, they take into account UK laws when regulating programs that broadcast on UK TV, but they are not compelled to regulate to Ofcom guidelines etc, Ofcom do not make UK or European tv laws, they have no power to do so, Ofcom make rules and guidelines etc for the channels they regulate and licence, they have no power to ban or block channels Like BS/BSX from broadcasting on UK TV using a fellow European Country's licence and being regulated by that country's regulator, we are all Europeans these days .
