Quote:This is a team who'll play the full season without their manager.Yes AC Milan won more games, but Juventus lost less games, they lost none by the way.
They drew 15 of 38 games in that rubbish league last season! AC Milan won more games and scored more goals. Juventus didn't have a single player in the top 10 of the goalscoring charts. Their top scorer got 10 goals and he didn't make the Italy Euro 2012 squad. I look at their team and see very little for the best teams in Europe to worry about. Pirlo being the exception. That's why i don't fancy them, at all. Their forward pool is Vucinic, Giovinco, Quagliarella and Matri. Compare that quartet with the forwards at the teams i rate above them.
Yes AC Milan scored more goals last season, but only 6 more than Juventus, who don't have the greatest of forward lines. They will beef it up a bit, but Bendther is not the answer.
Juventus also had best defence out of all the major teams in the best leagues in Europe. They only conceded 20 in Serie A last season.
Not having Conte for the season, is an issue. But I don't think their assistant manager will change much while Conte is gone

We'll have none of that mate... You're well and truly in the Juve camp! No backing out now.
Haha, I'm happy to stay in their camp

These were the odds on Betfair a couple of days ago, plus the current odds after the draw (in red)
So unsurprisingly, Man City, Real and Dortmund have all drifted in the betting after being drawn together in the Group of Death, and Man U have come in after getting a relatively easy group (but people said that last season). What is surprising to me is how far Arsenal have come in.
One final thing, the seeding system really makes a mockery of the term "Champions League". Dortmund won the Bundesliga last season, and the season before that, and ended up in Pot 4 with the lowest seeds while Schalke, who only came third, were in Pot 2. I know why it happens, because of their recent record in European competition, but it still seems unfair. Oh for the good old days when only league champions could play in it and everyone else went into the UEFA Cup, which was a damn good competition, not like today's Europa League which no-one wants to be in.

I will agree with you that United yet again seem to draw an "easy" group.
However I have never heard such drivel written about Fergie before. By no means is he my hero or anything, but to suggest the bloke is past it based on your prejudice is ridiculous.
He has rebuilt United god knows how many times and this is just another transition. Last season he took an average United side to the brink of winning the league against big spending City.

BUT if not for messi and his mates he might hav won it a few more times!(30-08-2012 18:10 )Fernandez Esperenda Wrote: [ -> ]Again man united get the easy draw... Anyone who has any criticism for Fergie, in my mind, is crazy.
