I guess you missed all the student protests.

FYI trolling ain't gonna help your cause, it just makes you look stupid and makes your original post lose credibility

In general I think the younger generation just accept anything in such an apathetic way. When is the last time you saw the under thirties protest about anything. They will not agree, but without knowing it they have become brainwashed. Anyone hoping that they would all join this campaign of being able to watch what we want (in reason) were sadly mistaken. So I'm afraid it will be up to us oldies If we want to get some sort of viewing freedom back on to our TV's once again.

I could be wrong about the young not protesting, I forgot about the "free TV's and designer gear for all" protest back in the summer. My apologies.

Nope... I'm 32. Smile

Sorry, but what a ridiculous post to make. The age of members has nothing whatsoever to do with who watches the channels. A lot of us fanboys are over 30. Rolleyes

It's the miserable bastards (as you put it) we could do without. Wink

Your guess is wrong. I'm 40 years old and I'm a supporter of the channels (or a fanboy as you call us, in the mistaken belief that that label is an insult which people are offended by).
To be perfectly honest, it's not the fact that you're a so-called "miserable bastard" that gets me. It's more that you continue to arrogantly insist that you're right, and anyone who doesn't share your point of view is wrong. The above post is more proof of that, with the choice of phrases like "more sensible" and "older, wiser". Your constant rants are anything but.

PS: I started writing this before Regen's reply Wink

Why is it that everybody who disagrees with you on this is accused of being a fanboy? I want the channels to be more explicit myself, but unlike you it's not such a big deal to me if they stay as they are. I'm not going to go out protesting about something which is pretty irrelevant to my way of living in the grand scheme of things.

Great post and bang on the money. A lot of the kids that watch these channels also watch shite like Xfactor and Big Brother - so a flash of tit to them is like Christmas come early. Is it any wonder they're happy with the festering shit we have now?

Really? Why so? Why generalize? Don't give me that Older = Wiser either, that doesn't really hold up well.

That is so ridiculously untrue, it doesn't matter what age you are, you tend to find people who watch those shows are people who just, overall aren't clever by all means.

So you're implying that The kids are reason for the shows being what they are, ever considered they are being improperly used as an excuse?

I've been around plenty around my age and have watched 18+ movies which can be popular for 'flash of the tits' I don't remember anyone liking the movie for that sole reason, nor do I see them get excessively excited at it either so I find that also, untrue. Find another scapegoat.

Not sure that I agree. There have been plenty of tits evident whenever I have watched either of those progsBig Grin

This is as good an example of a false dichotomy/false choice as we are ever likely to find, and probably the source of our speaking at cross purposes. Obviously there are inbetween positions.

And obviously not everybody who disagrees with you would thereby fall into the category of 'fanboy' as you (helpfully) define above Smile This might also mislead you into thinking that when a number of people disagree with you, they must all be fanboys (a conspiracy of fanboys! Maybe that could be the collective for fanboy? hmmm, or a mollycoddle of fanboys? a besot of fanboys? Or more boringly a fanclub of fanboys? worth investigating! )

I don't particularly mind by the way, it made for an interesting opinion about the demographics. Though I skew it as well.

Bravo, so well put Roquentin. To further the argument I would suggest not only "inbetween positions" exist but also peripheral positions. I for one could fall into the fan bastard or miserable boys categories (both separately and/or simultaneously [being schizophrenic]). It's essential we consider all POV's as part of our commitment to equality.

It would help enormously if all Fanboys that contribute to this forum, would include their date of birth on every post. That would prevent me making such mistakes as getting everyone age wrong whenever I post in future, I feel such an idiot for thinking that the age group of 18-30 would cover it. I shall now go and rip out my fingernails as an act of contrition. That is the very least I can do.

Oh fuck that, instead, you Fanboys "get a life" please.
