I believe it's because the last venture (S66 USA) was an obvious failure, otherwise it would still be around.
S66 USA disappears..... and up pops XtremeFilth Rolleyes
But this time without the recent 'S66 - badge of failure'

i think this could be spot on , an attempt at a cleaver peace of corporate branding to try and get people who don't watch/like 66's show to watch/call this one, with the bonus that if it was another fail it would not be associated with them,
but the irony is it a good show and it it had been called 66 starlets it would be bring them some good publicity

They do claim to be independently producing the show (whether you like it or not).

It’s not a bad attempt at creating a conspiracy theory, but does it have any basis in reality? I ask because someone who used to work for Babestation has posted here, saying that the scenario proposed by you that S66 USA disappears and up pops XtremeFilth is something just doesn’t happen in real life. The suggestion is that S66 had their eyes on a deal with XtremeFilth for a while and once it was finalised decided not to continue with S66 USA. Your claim that S66 USA was an obvious failure is not supported by that interpretation of events. I get the feeling that like all conspiracy theorists you knew what your conclusion was first, that you were being lied to, and you then constructed your own version of events to try and support that conclusion. In reality your story must be regarded as pure invention as there’s isn’t a shred of evidence to support it.
I haven't previously posted in this thread, let alone ventured any opinion on the subject, but the bandwagon theory seems so nonsensical I couldn't resist.

First of all, as Money_Shot pointed out, we don't know exactly what the circumstances were in which Studio 66 were discontinued. But that doesn't matter, because even if bandwagon were right that it simply didn't do well enough it's hard to believe that Studio 66 would care very much.

Channels and shows come and go all the time. Look at how many things Babestation have tried, with their tendency to chop and change. Masti Nights, Babestation Apprentice, Dirty Wives etc. If simply dropping a show meant you had to change your name then Babestation should have changed it's name at least half a dozen times that I can remember. Funnily enough their channels are still called Babestation.

OK so Studio 66 USA didn't last very long. Big deal. I mean so what? I find it incredible that bangwagon and others really think that Studio 66 would have been bothered. I repeat, so what? And if it really was such a big deal, why only change the name of one channel? Why not eradicate the name of Studio 66 entirely and change all the names?

Boo hoo, like a lot of babe shows Studio 66 USA was short lived. Get over it, these things happen. Don't make a drama out of it. The idea that the channel would now have to change it's name to not include Studio 66 in it strikes me as a wholly ridiculous theory.

I mean even if this nonsense story was true and Studio 66 wanted to hide the association why would they let the new channel share their studios, why would they use the same music, and even the logo, to start with at least? If they are trying to hide the association they aren't trying very hard are they?

For the bandwagon story to make any sense there would have to be complete separation, otherwise what would be the point? But as I said it all depends on this completely absurd notion that Studio 66 would have been bothered by the simple mundane fact of the USA show not lasting very long.
Just thought i'd post this info and definition of a conspiracy theory seeing has it's being discussed in this thread laugh

I wonder would it help to think of XF as a 'concession' within the S66 'superstore', in the way that Chanel might have a counter within Selfridges.
They share the same facilities but the concession has it's own say over how it runs itself, so long as it keeps up its rent payments.

Yes probably. I'd say that's a good analogy, well done. Smile

Isn't it a Ofcom license requirement that the licence holder should be in control of content/services etc that is broadcast on the TV channel it grants the licence to ? .
XtremeFilth/KKHC isn't the licence holder of Ch 942, the people behind STD 66 are, they are the ones that Ofcom will haul over the coals if content on XtremeFilth/Sky Ch 942 isn't to their liking .
So it wouldn't be wise of STD 66 not to be in full control of what is broadcast on this show, especially as STD 66 are already being investigated by Ofcom .
