Surely on that basis NONE of the channels is independant, because none of them have ultimate control of what we view. They are not completely free from outside control ie Ofcom.

Yes I see your point here Munch, but is it the same?
The channels are responsible for self regulation within the parameters set by Ofcom.
So in my mind they are in control and only if found in breach they are bound to pay the fine at a later date.

You're the second person to bring Sportxxx up in this thread. The fact that Krystal Niles has a column in the Sport newspaper, which she took advantage of to advertise the new TV channel, should not be taken to mean there is any connection between the Sport and Xtreme Filth.

Is it too much of a stretch of the imagination to suppose the Sports owners dont take kindly to their paper being used to promote unconnected businesses? Someone approved those mentions.
