I hate to be cynical, but this announcement has been made on a day when media attention is so focused on the Brexit deal which is supposed to be unveiled any moment now.

Just when you thought Age Verification was dead along comes a Judicial Review application by a number of IT companies who invested in development of AV solutions. They are claiming it seems that the Secretary of State only had the power to delay the introduction of AV and not cancel it.
It seems likely that their real aim is for the government to refund them their development costs but no doubt this will drag the issue back into the headlines for a little while longer.

You’re spot on, these companies who invested in av are just trying to get their money back they put into it. AV in the form it was proposed isn’t going to happen. Massive concerns over the security of the data, plus it was too easy to get round
P0rnhub have removed the download button on their videos and also limited new uploads to verified members.
This comes a couple of days after this story about an investigation from Mastercard & Visa :
