I think you're being very naive there, trying to put this down to one person. I mean if Cameron resigned as prime minister today, do you believe it would make any difference? Is yes it would make a difference what you actually believe?

Labour have said that the proposed law doesn't go far enough. Labour culture spokesman Chris Bryant is quoted as saying "After 5 years of inaction by the Tories, this proposal is too little too late. Labour would have acted by now".

No I don't think things would change, but as he is the PM he is the one pushing the law through.

They did say that but they didn't write anything in their manifesto about it though.

Lib Dems oppose it though

For some reason the Forum injects a zero width space to that link, try this instead

This is a good solution

Quote:Emm suggested it would be better if ISPs, rather than credit card companies, were to verify the age of users every time they went online.

He said that U.K. ISPs already have your bank details, so there’s no increased risk, and they could act as a gatekeeper to online porn content.

“On first access to the Internet, I’m required to enter a password that I set up when I first established an account,” Emms told Expert Reviews.

He said children would have separate accounts, which would automatically bar access to adult content, using existing filtering systems.

The ISPs could simply just hijack HTTP requests and redirect to age verification in a similar way they do WIFI login for public WIFI.
^^ I don't understand how that would work in practice. I have broadband, so my connection stays up as long as the line is stable, I last connected over two weeks ago. I don't make a new connection every time I sit down to use the internet, this isn't the old days of modems and pay-per-minute phone line connections.
