Also they don't have to know how to use a tv remote to accidentally turn on to something they shouldn't... thats why i have parental lock on those channels!

I didn't say there was a problem? It's gone from being simply precautionary (just in case it happens) to as if they are going onto these channels are purpose, the issue simply, being exaggerated. I'm not trying to insult your parenting skills.
Scottishbloke - I am pleased you have taken your fight outside the '4 walls' of this forum - nice one Smile
Only im not sure calling members of mumsnet 'feminist cows' is showing viewers of babe channels in the best light. I know that this is something you are clearly passionate about but if anything that kind of shows a bit of a disrespectful view which can be stereotypical to suggest that any male watching babestation or any adult related content considers women to not be worthy of their own opinion - something that will not help the search of justice or indeed your petition we have discussed in depth elsewhere.

The complaint has been that they are concerned that children have access to this, this is not so much a feminist issue as being a concerned parent.

On another matter slightly left field it is worth noting however that the complaint someone has raised is with freeview, I know that on certain freeview boxes such as the Thomson DTI6300 there is no way of removing or restricting channels
Marko you'll see that yes I did indeed call them feminists, but that for me was justified, they don't like this type of entertainment and they are using children as a rather convient excuse to put pressure on Ofcom to ban them, now somebody's got to say it, I also left clear instructions on how to block the channels. On the subject of certain freeview box's not having this facilty on it, if they are that concerned they can easily purchase a new one as the model you mentioned is obviously an older version but all current box's all have in now a parental block on them, you can buy a new box relatively cheap, no excuse Cool
Mumsnet. Hmmm. About as representative of women as GirlsNet* or LonelySingleWomanNet*

* Neither of these sites exist.

As you get older you get more reactionary. Mums who once revelled in their freedom, condemn the behaviour of their own children, whilst forgetting that they were once condemned by their own parents.

It's a natural consequence.

Blokes trying to understand women. PAH!

You make a stab at it but eventually you know, the girls tell you, that you were wrong. Wink

And then everyone's happy.
They don't even give proper answers, they just spout shit insults

If parents are concerned about children seeing babe channels after the UK recognised water shed showing non explicit semi naked or tastefully done non explicit nudity on tv marked clearly adult on the freeview EPG and want these shows banning then surly they must want all the non adult channel programs that show far worse material banning as well , such as programs that show extreme violence or sexual violence , use explicit language , show full frontal nudity etc , the babe channels are clearly not even 18 cert in strength , the girls don't use bad language on the mic and no full frontal nudity is shown .
I am not sure of the model number of my 2 Thompson freeview box's but but 1 is around 3 years old and 1 is 5 years old both have recently had new software downloaded to them including parental control .
As others have said, that Thomson is a very old model, plus the fact that we're not taking about STBs but rather Freeview TVs, and they do all offer the ability to delete channels.

That's not vostok1 - looks like it's imposter season!
For the record the Thompson DT16300 does now have parental control , new software has been downloaded to the old boxes to enable them to have parental control , i know because i have just checked what box i have and have just set up the parental control on my Thompson DT16300 .
