Yorkshire Sanctions
ECB recommends a 500K fine, 48-72 pts deduction in the Championship, 4-6 in the 1 Day Cup & 4-6 in the Blast.
REVIEW OF CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES : 25/28 June (better late than never)

Wins for Kent (relegation battle??) Lancashire (undoubtedly a contest equal to the roses in terms of passion and emotional reaction - Just read the message boards) Essex. Hampshire and Somerset - in Div I. In Div II all matches drawn! Using the Kook ball?? Maybe a message about the difference in skills versus Div I?? (isn't that the point of 2 Divisions??) where is the problem??

The points deductions (specifically Championship) certainly hit hard! The Yorkies consider them 'Harsh'.
Championship Round 10 - 13 July

KENT V WARWICKSHIRE - Warwickshire Win
DURHAM V GLOUCESTERSHIRE - Durham Win
LANCASHIRE V ESSEX - Essex Win
MIDDLESEX NORTHAMPTONSHIRE - Draw (Scores tied)
SOMERSET V HAMPSHIRE - Draw
SURREY NOTTINGHAMSHIRE - Draw
GLAMORGAN V LEICESTERSHIRE - Draw
SUSSEX V DERBYSHIRE - Draw
WORCESTERSHIRE YORKSHIRE - Draw

Few wins in this round, with most ending even! One obvious takeaway is the increasing reality of just how short sighted and damaging (to the competitions integrity) the decision to devalue draws has clearly been! Personally, chose well again with the Middlesex/N'Hants match! Some saw it as turgid, particularly from the steelbacks play, but it was hard edge competition in the raw, and great value to watch!

County championship resumes today with some key fixtures at the top and bottom of both divisions.
^ and about time snooks......... an outrage that the championship has been so demoted in prestige (but not importance or meaning despite the attempts to do just that) by the very organisation that should be doing the complete opposite! Thank 'god' the gimmicks and the money grabbing greed is finally over for the season!

I was watching Worcestershire v Glamorgan where 'The Pears' made a pretty remarkable recovery to post - yes an under par score - of 284. missed out on bonus points, but at least are still in the contest!

Having looked at the Div one scores, leaders Surrey have early doors, gone a giant step further in pursuit of the title, with Hampshire looking like dropping bonus points! Essex know now that they will need a maximum haul when they start tomorrow
Some results already in! Surrey hammered Warwickshire to get to within touching distance of the tile. I had expected this to be a contest, but one - sided is an understatement. Will be interesting to see Mark Robinson's reaction, and 'positive' spin this time around! Elsewhere in Div 2, Leicestershire didn't need to stretch themselves to overcome Gloucestershire, and they remain in the promotion hunt! Worcestershire - despite subsiding in their 2nd Inns, walked all over Glamorgan who, chasing 'only' 260 for victory, were abject in the chase, and folded' losing their last 5 wickets for 50.
Don't know if anyone saw the match reaction from Paul Farbrace after Sussex's latest defeat?? While he may have put it in some context - young players learning their craft and injuries - he didn't hold back at the shortcomings of the team, and the performances (specifically mental approach) which he said fell well short of what was expected!

Refreshing to hear such 'brutal' frankness, although PF is (thankfully) renowned for his 'home truths' approach (when being interrogated by the football obsessed Sky Football news for example after the Ashes were not regained). In stark contrast to the football world where, more often than not, you get the kid gloves approach (notable exceptions) with even pundits saying managers can't 'upset' the players.......awww!!............. by giving them a public pasting!

How impacted have Sussex been with the garbage hundred??
