I was watching a Cubs/Dodgers game the other week and the Chicago broadcasters turned the mic's over to Vin for an innings, I could listen to that guy talk about baseball allllllll day. To me his voice and style IS baseball, very similar to Richie Benaud was to cricket
^ he was the last single person radio booth, most teams have a 2_3 person panel calling the game
Some unbelievably tragic news has emerged over the last hour or so. The best young pitcher in the game, Miami ace Jose Fernandez has been killed in a boating accident off the Miami coast. he had been to due to pitch today against Atlanta. He was just 24. I'm actually shaking about this news. Fernandez was my personal favourite pitcher to watch. He made it look so effortless. Heartbreaking. What makes it even sadder was the revelation just 5 days ago that he was due to become a father for the first time in the new year. I'd say I'm speechless but that would be stupid. What a waste of life and talent. RIP Jose.

Terrible news, a bright young talent sadly lost
Just over a week since the terrible news about Jose Fernandez and the MLB season has finished. The playoffs begin tomorrow night with the first match being Baltimore @ Toronto in the A.L wild card game. The other American League playoff matches will see Texas awaiting the winners of the Baltimore/Toronto match, and then Boston facing Cleveland. In the National League, the top seeded Chicago Cubs will face the winner of the N.L wild card game between the N.Y. Mets and San Francisco, while the L.A. Dodgers will face Washington.

I'm predicting a Toronto vs Cubs World Series.
i sincerely hope so its been a while since we made the big show .....1992 enough said came up short against the royals again last season
Hoping the Cubbies go all the way now and finish it off. As a fan I'm not sure I can handle the Cubs finally winning another World Series AND Leicester winning the league in the same calendar year
Kershaw pitched 101 pitches over 5 innings giving up 3 runs striking out 7 in Dodgers 4-3 win over Washington. Jansen pitched 5 out save
my jays out to a 2-0 lead over the rangers hope they make it thru
Watched Cubbies game one, don't think I've ever been routed to the spot by a 1-0 game in my life. Had to watch highlights of game 2 at work today but that was much more entertaining. On to San Fran we go!
