Cubs seem to have just stopped clicking. I mean they could make it back but then maybe getting to the WS was just too much of a fairytale for this season Sad
^ Apparently so. The Mets completed the 4-game sweep last night, to reach their first World Series since 2000. Toronto & Kansas City are back in Kansas to play Game 6 tomorrow night, with the Royals 3-2 up.
Aaaaand so, we've once again reached the Fall Classic. 1am tonight the 2015 World Series starts. I'm predicting the Mets win in 6 games.

Kansas 2-0 up against NY Mets 5-4 in 10 Innings in game 1, 7-1 win in game 2 with complete game from Kansas pitcher
Mets back in it 9-3 winners on game 3
Kansas wins game 4 by 5-3 to move 3-1 up and just 1 game away from the World Series

And so, that's that for another season. Kansas City managed to go one step further than last year's World Series defeat by becoming World Champions for 2015. A big off-season, ahead of the 2016 campaign, has already begun- Washington have hired Dusty Baker to be their new manager, and Miami hired ex-Dodgers manager Don Mattingly as manager.
In the wake of the World Series, Baseball has been hit with some shocking news. Former L.A. Angels & Atlanta Braves pitcher Tommy Hanson has dies aged just 29. Early signs are, sadly, pointing to a cocaine overdose.
As the season has ended the next stage of the baseball calendar has begun. Awards time. And the first few awards announced were the Rookie Of The Year Awards. No surprise that Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs won the National league award. And Houston's Carlos Correa narrowly edged out Francisco Lindor to win the American League award. Then yesterday, the Cy Young awards were dished out. Another Houston Astro picked up an award with ace Dallas Keuchel being named American League winner. And likewise, another Chicago Cub was successful- Jake Arrieta edged out the Dodgers pair of Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw to claim the National League honour. The Manager Of The Year awards went to another Cubbie- Joe Maddon, in the National League, and the Texas Rangers boss Jeff Bannister in the American League.

The big ones- the MVP awards are announced later today. Hopefully Josh Donaldson pips Mike Trout to the American League award, and it'll take a borderline miracle to see anyone but Bryce Harper win the National League trophy.
A fine raft of awards for the Cubbies but I'm obviously biased lol Big Grin Looking forward to see where the team heads next season, if only to distract me from my NFL team driving me to dispair!
