Neil Robertson really needs to rethink his wardrobe, he's lucky not to be heckled by shouts of "where's your castanets, eh?"
Mark Williams has been knocked out by Luca Brecel 13-11. The Belgian forged into an 11-8 lead before the Welshman restored parity. Brecel played a hugely impressive final two frames however and clinched a spot in the quarter finals.
One of 5 guys in their 2nd round debuts, I think, so well done him. Wait until he hears that Hazel Irvine and especially Tubs Murphy were comparing him to Joe Johnson and - who else? - Tubs Murphy.

At least he ditched the perm, that was a shocking look laugh
Day Seven:

Result:
Luca Brecel (9) bt Mark Williams (8) 13-11

Overnight scores:
Neil Robertson (6) 6-10 Jak Jones
Mark Allen (3) 12-4 Stuart Bingham (14)
Ronnie O'Sullivan (1) 6-2 Hossein Vafaei
Pleased to see Mark Allen get shot of Bingham so fast.
I'm glad to see that Ronnie gave Hossein Vafaei a good beating 13-2. He won it with a couple of hundreds at the end.

It was a needle match but least they seemed to be chums at the end of the contest.
Jak Jones has completed a shock victory over Neil Robertson 13-7. A quite brilliant effort from the Welshman to set up a clash with Mark Allen in the last eight.
Robertson's chances of ever winning it again were written off afterwards by BBC folk who still like to pretend Murphy could yet get a 2nd.

Well done Jones, though. Allen should put up more of a fight next, though.
Adopting a neutral stance I rather take the view that both Robertson and Murphy have opportunity to win another world crown but there are different obstacles needing clearance for either of them to achieve it.

Robertson needs to find a way to produce his best stuff consistently at the Crucible.
Murphy needs to improve his shot selection and tactical nous.
While not impossible both men are presented with distinct challenges.

Both men will be disappointed.
Robertson because he failed to reproduce his round one form.
Murphy because his recent form indicated a potential title tilt.

But they will have chances again in the future.
