Day Two.

Results:
Stuart Bingham (14) bt David Gilbert
10-4
Neil Robertson (6) bt Wu Yize 10-3
Jak Jones bt Ali Carter (11) 10-6
Luca Brecel (9) bt Ricky Walden 10-9

Overnight scores:
Ding Junhui (16) 5-4 Hossein Vafaei
Mark Williams (8) 4-5 Jimmy Robertson
Sixteenth seed Ding Junhui is out after a morning second session blitz from Hossein Vafaei saw the 'Prince of Persia' romp home 10-6. From 4-5 down Vafaei produced some outstanding snooker to see off his opponent and set up a clash with reigning champion Ronnie O'Sullivan in round two.
They said Jones had got his biggest payday just for reaching the Crucible, so beating Carter will be even better for him. And me, of course Wink

Pleased for Vafaei. He's got more chance of being World Champion one day than Ding "15+ years and still no nearer" Junhui.
Mark Williams reeled off six frames in a row this afternoon to see off Jimmy Robertson and set up a second round encounter with the Belgian Bullet: Luca Brecel.

Play back underway on table 2.

Table 1 needs a new cloth.

Milkins v Perry could resume on table 2 upon completion of the Allen v Zhengyi match but that may be a little while yet.
Alternatively a Thursday morning session could be created to fit all required play in.

Update: The Milkins v Perry match will NOT resume tonight.
The first session will be played tomorrow with the second session to be played in a specially created session on Thursday morning.
It could have been a lot worse, something like ricin or anthrax etc. Security definitely needs beefing up.

bit OTT

but the fact that these things have been happening all over the place for the last 2 years or so you would have thought they would be getting more security in place
