Nice little mid session interview with my favorite referee Desislava Bozhilova.

She can polish my balls anytime. Tongue
Ronnie O'Sullivan has maintained his four frame cushion heading into the final session of the last eight clash with Luca Brecel.
The Belgian twice closed to within two frames at 4-6 and 6-8 down only for the Rocket to stretch away again on both occasions. Missed opportunity for Brecel.

The Mark Allen v Jak Jones second session was a scrappy, nervy affair. Allen battled into a 7-5 lead but Jones levelled at 7-7.
Into a crucial 15th frame then, Allen with a 52 point lead and Jones snookered on all reds. Jones plays a two cushion escape and flukes a red to middle that leads to a hugely important clearance. 8-7 Jones.
Massive last frame of the day. Tense.
Allen keeps his cool and levels at 8-8.
Resumes 10am tomorrow with all to play for in the concluding session.
Mark Allen is through to the semi finals after overcoming Jak Jones 13-10.
The Welshman just made too many unforced errors in the final session and Allen took advantage to seal a last four spot.

Meanwhile Anthony McGill and Si Jiahui remain deadlocked after session two at 8-8 heading into the final session tonight.
Credit to Jones, hopefully he might be able to use that as momentum in the new season. Also credit to Allen, he must fancy a first Final spot.
Allen faces a tough ask in the semi final.
Either Selby or Higgins.

To be honest if Selby gets through I think it's tournament over. Selby wins the title.
I cannot see him losing a best of 33 or best of 35 in front of a crowd at The Crucible.
He will wear the opponents down, take them out their rhythm and form before watching them crumble under pressure.
It's happened countless times before and will happen again.
Ronnie O'Sullivan has hit the buffers.
It's 10-10 and The Rocket is struggling desperately this afternoon after losing all four frames before the mid session interval.
Unless he finds something and quickly his title defence could be coming to a shocking end.
Who is this doppelganger masquerading as Ronnie O'Sullivan this afternoon ?

Please someone find the real Ronnie before it's too late.

Would an Allen v Brecel final be the shortest ever ? ( in feet & inches)
How bad was Ronnie this afternoon.
I have seen Ronnie lose 6 frames on the spin but not 7, and no breaks over 30.
A disastrous afternoon for O'Sullivan.
His entire game deserted him and Brecel ruthlessly punished him.
I cannot see Brecel winning the tournament though. At some point he will come up against a tough match player.

Either Allen, Higgins or the ultimate good form terminator that is Mark Selby.
And Selby leads 9-5.

Unless Higgins can pull some magic out the hat this tournament could be as good as over even before the semi finals actually begin.
