Don’t get me started on Yanks.

The ones who REALLY boil my piss are the ones who call themselves Irish. I mean what the fuck? 99.9% of them were born in the USA, have never ever even fucking been to Ireland, and nobody in the last 3 generations of their families were born in Ireland, yet somehow they think they are fucking Irish.

No you are fucking not!! If you go to Ireland, NO ONE will see you as one of them. They will see you as a Yank tourist.

I hate them and their stupid stereotypes about Irish people and their stupid beliefs about what being Irish means. It means no more than being from any other place you thick Yankee Doodle cunts.

Born in Wales to an English mother with Irish parentage, and Scottish father..real mongrel.
If you watch old films most of the police were called O'Halloran, O'Reilly and O'Hare AND it was Oirish not Irish especially in New Yawk! Most Irish people were stereotyped portrayed with large hats and red beards and sometimes in this country it was 'from the land of da bogs and da little people' (Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin) Real Irish people just found it embarrassing to watch actors portraying them. I felt the same with people portraying English/Cockneys like Dick van Dyke in Moiry Pawpins (he did apologise years ago and we've since forgiven him for that) but the Americans just can't get it right. Tony Hancock quote from episode - The Americans Hit Town "I am not against Americans...when they're in America; don't even mind them taking photos of guards in busbys but I won't be occupied!" Big Grin

Yeah I know what you mean there are some very good actors who CAN do good accents I mean Renee Zellwegger who does Bridget Jones and the other one Gwyneth Paltrow are very good at it, the best I ever heard was an impressionist called Rich Little but that was a long time ago. On the whole many can't manage it. Oddly enough Van Dyke did a very good cut-glass accent as the owner of the Bank in 'Mary Poppins' it was just his Bert that left a lot to be desired! Big Grin
Owen Jones, smug little cunt.
