If you hold on to the handle bars really tight, you won't fall off. Simples. Wink
I see not many people bothered to vote.
If this award was about achievement then Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Phil Taylor would have won it on multiple occasions as they really were outstanding in their respective fields. Also as for the vast majority of winners being white you really need to take a close look at those people and then say they did not deserve to win.
The nominees for the 2018 awards aren't going to be announced until the night; this is supposed to add an extra layer of interest, but not much time to vote.

Yes that is an excellent point.
Of course there will be those that claim darts and snooker are not real sports.
Yet the great British public have voted a snooker player in the past as Sports Personality of the year (Steve Davis) Wink.
I regard them both as a sport for a whole raft of reasons which I shan't bore everyone with now Rolleyes.

I would hope and expect Phil Taylor to be at least considered for the Lifetime achievement award. It's title insinuates no hint of personality and that being the case it is, to put it mildly rather challenging to come up with a British sportsperson who has achieved so much in their sport as Phil Taylor.
I appreciate he may divide opinion on personality grounds but if we are talking pure achievement he surely must be at the very least 'considered'.
^^^ Mainly think its because BBC had the rights to the BDO scared of losing the only darts they had !!

Can see hamilton winning but Geraint thomas and Simon Yates should at least get nominations. I would love Geraint Thomas to win
Could be an interesting one tonight.
Lewis Hamilton, Geraint Thomas, Dina Asher-Smith, Anthony Joshua and no doubt countless others in contention.
Even I can't decide who should win.
I am torn now.
Team of the Year might have been the England World Cup Squad had they won the thing BUT I don't think you can overlook the England Women's Netball Team who beat Australia in the Commonwealth Games final by ONE point and for that matter Tracey Neville should be in the top draw for the Coach of the Year. As to the main award I have no idea but snookered said above those names will be in the frame Lewis, Geraint and Dina, Anthony all with a shout and all would be a worthy winner. We shall see in a few hours.
does anyone really care? it's just a show for them all to black slap each other and say "look at me and how great i am" while others will sit there staring into space wishing they could be anywhere right now but there... lol. (anyone remember a confused fabio capello sitting there one year)
