He becomes the 4th most expensive player of all time, after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.

I see this as a case of deja vu here:- Can RM play Ronaldo, Bale & Rodriguez in the same team like can Barcelona play Messi, Neymar & Suarez in the same team, but whatever happens the LA Liga will be explosive this season!!
The usual bullshit in the press about United. The Guardian saying van Gaal can break the transfer record for a player, while the Manchester Evening News states he is reflecting on the squad to see how it performs before making any further purchases. Meanwhile the Italian press are suggesting we have a £44million bid in for Vidal. Rolleyes

Cost – 57.1 Million Euros

“We are very proud of the Neymar contract, but it seems like we are being asked to apologise for it. It was a very tough negotiation”, according to Raül Sanllehí, who personally headed the team which hammered out the deal. The Director of the Football Management Area said he very much regretted that the figures surrounding the transfer had been leaked, but again insisted that the global cost of the transfer was 57.1 million Euros, to which a bonus of 2 million Euros will be added if Neymar finishes in the top three of the Ballon D’Or.

But aren't Barcelona accused of lying about the transfer fee in order to avoid tax that would be due?

Barcelona stand accused, yes. For example, they paid Santos €7.9m which has been alleged to be a contractual dodge, to disguise money being paid for Neymar. However, Barcelona claim that the €7.9m was paid to Santos for first refusal on 3 of the Brazilian club’s youngsters and was not part of the Neymar transfer. Marca subsequently claimed that the 3 players in question were Gabriel, Giva and Victor Andrade. As things stand, Barcelona deny any wrongoing and still insist that the transfer fee was €57.1m.
New York City FC have announced the signing of Frank Lampard on a 2 year contract.

Try Barcelona's own website. All press reports are based on the information provided there.

And I know for fact that they paid well over 57m for him.... Rolleyes Barca are not going to show they fans how much they actually paid for him...

Barcelona have told the Spanish prosecutor's office that their figures are correct. If you have evidence to the contrary you should pass it to the investigating authorities whilst the case is still current.
Everton are close to sealing a deal for Bosnia's World Cup star Muhamed Besic while Cardiff's Gary Medel is set to join Inter Milan.
Arsenal sign goalkeeper David Ospina from NICE for a undisclosed fee.
Liverpool have pulled out of a deal to sign Loic Remy from QPR after he failed a club medical.
